【摘要】：《米德爾馬契》是19世紀(jì)英國小說家喬治艾略特的代表作,這部作品中全面反映了19世紀(jì)中期維多利亞時代的社會面貌和人們的精神風(fēng)貌。近來的一些研究相當(dāng)關(guān)注喬治艾略特在她作品中顯露的一種對女性,社會以及宗教的既反抗又妥協(xié)的矛盾態(tài)度并且結(jié)合各種文學(xué)理論對這一矛盾性進行解讀。本文作者認為,喬治艾略特的這種矛盾性實際是源于艾略特對中庸之道的哲學(xué)思考。中庸之道宣揚的是中正平和,反對偏激極端的人生態(tài)度。中庸之道要求為人處世時要審時度勢,注意分寸,尊重傳統(tǒng),在社會現(xiàn)實所允許的范圍內(nèi)實現(xiàn)個人的發(fā)展與抱負。中庸之道需要個人以一顆同情寬容的心來體諒他人以提高自身修養(yǎng)和對社會的理解。 筆者以艾略特長篇小說《米德爾馬契》為研究對象,通過細讀文本以及喬治艾略特的書信和傳紀(jì),試圖挖掘出《米德爾馬契》的中庸之道哲學(xué),并探究艾略特中庸之道的根源。本文首先分析了《米德爾馬契》中反映的喬治艾略特的中庸觀點：艾略特對社會發(fā)展的有機漸進的觀點,艾略特對婦女問題的保守現(xiàn)實的觀點以及艾略特對道德倫理的人道主義同情觀點。其次,文章又通過分析具體的人物塑造,反映出喬治艾略特對中庸之道的理解。重點分析了兩大類人物性格以及命運：性格偏激的人物和他們遭受的挫折以及性格平和的人物和他們收獲的成就。艾略特通過塑造這兩類不同性格的人物,突顯出中庸之道的重要性和價值。最后,本文通過分析艾略特飽受爭議的人生經(jīng)歷和當(dāng)時流行的社會思潮實證主義和人本主義宗教找尋艾略特中庸之道思想的根源�！睹椎聽栺R契》的中庸之道,反映了喬治艾略特對人生,社會和道德問題的深刻理解和哲理性思考,對當(dāng)時和現(xiàn)在的讀者都有一定的警示作用和教育意義。
[Abstract]:Middlemachy is the masterpiece of British novelist George Eliot in the 19th century. It reflects the social and spiritual features of the Victorian era in the middle of the 19th century. Some recent studies have paid close attention to George Eliot's contradictory attitude towards women society and religion in her works and combined with various literary theories to interpret this contradiction. The author believes that this contradiction of George Eliot stems from Elliott's philosophical thinking of the mean. The Doctrine of the mean preaches peace and opposition to extreme and extreme attitudes towards life. The Doctrine of the mean means to judge the situation, pay attention to the scale, respect the tradition, and realize the individual's development and ambition within the scope allowed by the social reality. The middle way requires an individual to sympathize with others in order to improve self-cultivation and understanding of society. Taking Eliot's novel Middlemachy as the object of study, the author tries to find out the philosophy of the mean and explore the root of Eliot's golden mean by reading the text and George Elliot's letters and biography. This paper first analyzes George Eliot's view of the mean, which is reflected in Middlemachy: Elliott's organic and progressive view of social development. Eliot's conservative reality of women's issues and Eliot's humanitarian sympathies on ethics. Secondly, the article reflects George Eliot's understanding of the doctrine of the mean by analyzing the concrete characters. This paper focuses on the analysis of two types of characters' characters and fate: extreme characters and their setbacks, and gentle characters and their achievements. Eliot highlights the importance and value of the mean by shaping these two different characters. Finally, by analyzing Eliot's controversial life experience and popular social trends of thought, positivism and humanism, this paper tries to find the roots of Eliot's doctrine of the mean. It reflects George Eliot's profound understanding and philosophical thinking on life, society and moral problems, which has a certain warning effect and educational significance to readers at that time and now.
