基于語料庫的英語學術(shù)論文多維模型分析

【摘要】:隨著語料庫語言學的興起和發(fā)展,引起了語言研究在方法上的重要轉(zhuǎn)變。近年來,以語料庫為基礎對語體進行多維度多特征分析(MDA)也吸引了國內(nèi)外語言學家和研究者的興趣。多維度模型由Biber所創(chuàng)建,該模型通過對語體的多維度宏觀分析和多特征微觀分析,全面比較分析不同語篇類型,以揭示語體之間的差異。本研究借助多維度分析模型從五個維度對比分析了期刊(光學)英語學術(shù)論文語料庫EAPS與通用語英語語域語料庫CROWN之間的語體差異,同時研究了兩者在各維度相應的語言特征使用上的差別。本研究選擇CROWN語料庫為參照語料庫,選擇自建語料庫EAPS為觀察語料庫,EAPS語料均選自影響因子較高的權(quán)威英文期刊。通過對比分析發(fā)現(xiàn):首先,(光學)英語學術(shù)論文在整體上表現(xiàn)出較強的信息性,指稱明晰性以及信息抽象性,而其交互性、敘事性以及說服性特征不明顯;其次,在語言特征的使用上,英語學術(shù)論文傾向使用某些特定的特征,如名詞,介詞,名詞化和無施事被動結(jié)構(gòu),同時存在某些語言特征的多用和少用現(xiàn)象,如句子關(guān)系詞的多用以及關(guān)系從句的少用。針對研究中所發(fā)現(xiàn)的問題,本研究給英語學習者、教學者和研究者以及教材制定者提出了相應的建議。研究認為英語學習者應多了解不同語體的語言特征,以便在寫作中選擇恰當?shù)乇磉_用語;教學者應幫助學生擺脫母語遷移的影響;而英語教材的制定者研究者應當充分了解英語學術(shù)論文用語的風格特征,根據(jù)相應特征編寫教材,為英語學習者和教學者提供科學的學習資料和教材。
[Abstract]:With the rise and development of Corpus Linguistics, there has been an important change in the methodology of language research. In recent years, Corpus-based multi-dimensional and multi-feature analysis of (MDA) has attracted the interest of linguists and researchers at home and abroad. The multi-dimensional model is created by Biber. The model is based on the multi-dimensional macroscopic analysis and multi-feature micro-analysis to analyze the different text types in order to reveal the differences between the styles. Based on the multi-dimensional analysis model, this study contrasts and analyzes the differences between EAPS and CROWN, a journal (optical) English academic paper corpus, from five dimensions. At the same time, the differences in the use of linguistic features in each dimension are studied. In this study, the CROWN corpus was selected as reference corpus, and the self-built EAPS corpus was selected from the authoritative English journals with higher influence factors. Through comparative analysis, it is found that: first, the (optical) English academic papers show strong informativeness, clarity of reference and abstraction of information as a whole, but their interactive, narrative and persuasive characteristics are not obvious. In the use of linguistic features, English academic papers tend to use certain specific features, such as nouns, prepositions, nominalization and passive structures without agency. For example, the multiple use of sentence relative words and the less use of relative clauses. In view of the problems found in the study, the present study offers suggestions to English learners, teachers and researchers as well as textbook makers. The study holds that English learners should learn more about the linguistic characteristics of different styles in order to choose appropriate expressions in their writing, and that teachers should help students get rid of the influence of mother tongue transfer. The researchers should fully understand the stylistic features of English academic papers and compile the textbooks according to their characteristics so as to provide scientific learning materials and textbooks for English learners and teachers.
