“女王英語(yǔ)”研究:從連讀和失爆角度

【摘要】:英式英語(yǔ)是眾多英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者所公認(rèn)的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)英語(yǔ),女王英語(yǔ)更堪稱眾多英語(yǔ)學(xué)者所模仿的典范。當(dāng)前的英國(guó)女王伊麗莎白二世在位已有六十余年,每年她都會(huì)在圣誕節(jié)時(shí)發(fā)表演講,聆聽(tīng)女王的演講已成了英國(guó)人過(guò)圣誕節(jié)的傳統(tǒng)。無(wú)論是遣詞造句、語(yǔ)法的運(yùn)用,還是優(yōu)美的語(yǔ)音語(yǔ)調(diào),圣誕演說(shuō)都具有相當(dāng)高的品質(zhì)。本文主要研究女王英語(yǔ)的連貫語(yǔ)流方面,并從連讀和失爆兩個(gè)角度入手。本研究主要探索出現(xiàn)在選取的三十五篇圣誕演說(shuō)里的連讀和失爆現(xiàn)象,并致力于解答以下問(wèn)題:第一,出現(xiàn)在圣誕演說(shuō)里的連讀和失爆現(xiàn)象的語(yǔ)音環(huán)境有何特點(diǎn)?第二,隨著女王年齡的增長(zhǎng),其連讀和失爆是否受到影響?如果受到影響,那么變化的方向又是什么?第三,出現(xiàn)在圣誕演說(shuō)和BBC新聞里的連讀和失爆,有何共同點(diǎn)或者不同點(diǎn)?為了更好地突出女王英語(yǔ)的特點(diǎn),本論文選取了十篇BBC新聞作為輔助性研究材料。通過(guò)定量分析和比較的研究方法,本文不僅呈現(xiàn)了出現(xiàn)在圣誕演說(shuō)和BBC新聞里的所有連讀和失爆現(xiàn)象,還探究了各自的特點(diǎn)。兩者之間,失爆比連讀享有更多相似之處。就平均值來(lái)看,圣誕演說(shuō)里的連讀和失爆的頻率分別是6.23%和2.52%,BBC新聞里分別是4.44%和3.70%。女王英語(yǔ)具有更高頻率的連讀和相對(duì)較低頻率的失爆。圣誕演說(shuō)里的平均失爆頻率比BBC新聞里低1.18%。但是,圣誕演說(shuō)里的平均連讀頻率比BBC新聞里高1.79%。而且,圣誕演說(shuō)里有四種不同類型的連讀語(yǔ)音環(huán)境而B(niǎo)BC新聞里只有一種。相反的是,就失爆來(lái)說(shuō),圣誕演說(shuō)和BBC新聞里都有九種語(yǔ)音環(huán)境。女王的連讀和失爆并不會(huì)受到年齡增長(zhǎng)的影響;诒疚牡姆治龊桶l(fā)現(xiàn),本文對(duì)英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者和教授者都具有很重要的意義。學(xué)習(xí)者熟知連讀和失爆的規(guī)律之后,他們將會(huì)更好地理解別人的話語(yǔ)并且把自己的話語(yǔ)潤(rùn)色得更加地道、流利,尤其對(duì)于口譯者來(lái)說(shuō)。本文對(duì)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)也有一定啟發(fā)。當(dāng)學(xué)生了解了連讀和失爆的基本規(guī)則之后,他們將會(huì)更好地完成英語(yǔ)聽(tīng)力測(cè)試。
[Abstract]:British English is recognized as the standard English by many English learners, and Queen English is a model imitated by many English learners. Queen Elizabeth II, who has been in power for more than 60 years, speaks at Christmas every year. Listening to the Queen's speech has become a Christmas tradition in Britain. Christmas speeches are of high quality, whether they are phraseology, grammatical use, or beautiful pronunciation and intonation. This paper mainly studies the Queen's English in the aspect of coherent language flow, and starts from two angles of continuous reading and explosion. This study mainly explores the phenomenon of continuous reading and explosion in the selected 35 Christmas speeches, and tries to answer the following questions: first, what are the characteristics of the phonetic environment of the continuous reading and explosive phenomenon in the Christmas speech? Second, as the Queen grows older, does her serial reading and explosion suffer? If so, what is the direction of change? Third, what do they have in common or different about the links and explosions that appear in the Christmas speech and BBC News? In order to better highlight the features of Queen's English, this thesis selects ten BBC News as supporting materials. By means of quantitative analysis and comparison, this paper not only presents all the phenomena of continuous reading and explosion appearing in the Christmas speech and BBC News, but also explores their own characteristics. There are more similarities between the two than serial reading. On average, the frequency of repeat and explosion in the Christmas speech was 6.23 percent and 2.52 percent respectively, and 4.44 percent and 3.70 percent on BBC News, respectively. Queen English has higher frequency of continuous reading and lower frequency of explosion. The average rate of loss on the Christmas speech was 1.18 times lower than on BBC News. However, the average frequency of the Christmas speech was 1.79 times higher than that on BBC News. Also, there are four different types of conjunctions in the Christmas speech and only one on BBC News. On the contrary, there are nine voice environments in both the Christmas speech and BBC News. The Queen's rendezvous and explosion will not be affected by age. Based on the analysis and findings of this paper, this paper is of great significance to both English learners and professors. When learners are familiar with the rules of continuous reading and explosion, they will better understand the words of others and make their words more eloquent and fluent, especially for interpreters. This article also has the certain enlightenment to the English teaching. When the students understand the basic rules of continuous reading and explosion, they will be better able to complete the English listening test.
