　　杰克·倫敦是二十世紀(jì)初最受歡迎的美國(guó)作家。作為一名多產(chǎn)作家,他在不到20年的時(shí)間內(nèi)創(chuàng)作了500篇散文,200篇短篇小說和19部小說。自從倫敦出版了他的半自傳體小說《馬丁·伊登》以來,這部小說一直被認(rèn)為是他的代表作,但同時(shí)關(guān)于它的主題、悲劇結(jié)尾以及書中相互沖突的哲學(xué)理論也引起不少的爭(zhēng)論�！恶R丁·伊登》為什么會(huì)引起讀者和評(píng)論家不同的感受和觀點(diǎn)呢?除了作者特殊的經(jīng)歷和復(fù)雜的思想外,當(dāng)時(shí)的歷史背景——在新舊交替時(shí)期的美國(guó),人們的生活和世界觀發(fā)生了巨大的變化——能夠回答這一問題。本文試圖用史蒂芬·格林布拉特提出的新歷史主義理論分析這部小說。新歷史主義主張把文本放回當(dāng)時(shí)的歷史語境下,強(qiáng)調(diào)歷史在文本創(chuàng)作中的作用,不再認(rèn)為歷史是獨(dú)立的、前文本的,而是強(qiáng)調(diào)歷史和文本之間的相互關(guān)系,稱之為“文本的歷史性,歷史的文本性”。另外,新歷史主義還采用�？吕碚�,認(rèn)為權(quán)力是無所不在的,權(quán)力產(chǎn)生并指派顛覆力量以達(dá)到與其合作的目地。除了引言與結(jié)論,本文正文分為四個(gè)章節(jié)。引言主要介紹了杰克倫敦的生平、他所處的時(shí)代、《馬丁·伊登》的主要情節(jié),以及國(guó)內(nèi)外對(duì)這部小說的研究情況。第一章是關(guān)于新歷史主義的介紹,主要包括新歷史主義的興...
