【摘要】：約瑟夫·康拉德(Joseph Conrad,1857-1924)一位來自波蘭的英國小說家,在20世紀(jì)的英國文壇,他有著重要的地位�！都防蠣敗�(Lord Jim,1900)是其影響最廣泛的小說之一,該著被稱為20世紀(jì)英國文學(xué)中第一部現(xiàn)代主義作品。自問世以來,該著廣受評(píng)論界關(guān)注。評(píng)論家從不同視角闡釋該小說,拓展豐富其內(nèi)涵。在此,本文試圖運(yùn)用愛德華·W.薩義德(Edward W.Said,1935-2003)的后殖民理論來分析該小說中土著人他者形象刻畫及其文化內(nèi)涵,進(jìn)一步豐富學(xué)界關(guān)于康拉德作品的研究。本文主要分析了《吉姆老爺》中的“他者”形象�！八摺币辉~來源于薩義德的《東方學(xué)》(Orientalism),東方主義是西方帝國主義在后殖民時(shí)代對(duì)東方的一種文化操縱和歪曲,其目的是為了達(dá)到對(duì)東方的實(shí)際統(tǒng)治。作為《吉姆老爺》的作者,康拉德對(duì)帝國主義持一種矛盾的態(tài)度。他既有反帝國主義的一面,也有支持的一面。作為二十世紀(jì)的英國小說家,他始終擺脫不了對(duì)東方人的偏見和作為西方人的優(yōu)越感。作為一部寫給西方人的小說,他始終立足于西方人的立場,故而在小說中有大量的扭曲土著人形象的描寫。通過具體分析了土著人和白人的代表,我們可以了解到土著人的形象是如何被他者化,如何被重構(gòu)的。土著人的形象被扭曲,他們變得沉默,甚至是異化。東方世界也完全變成了他者的世界。本文由三部分組成:第一章從他者理論提出者薩義德,小說作者康拉德以及小說的主要敘述人馬洛(Marlow)三方面來具體闡釋了在當(dāng)今世界中,在英美小說家中以及在文本中土著人以及整個(gè)東方是以怎樣的扭曲失真形象出現(xiàn)的。第二章選取了兩個(gè)代表人物,華利士大英(Dain Waris)和坦布依坦(Tamb’Itam)兩個(gè)沉默的下屬,始終追隨在吉姆左右。他們代表了失語的土著人,心甘情愿的接受了邊緣的身份和地位,逐漸喪失了表達(dá)以及表現(xiàn)自我的本能。第三章主要描寫了在殖民擴(kuò)張的進(jìn)程中,像科內(nèi)利烏斯(Cornelius)以及混血兒鈺兒(Jewel)等白人是如何逐漸被異化。事實(shí)上,白人歸根結(jié)底也是殖民活動(dòng)的受害者。通過對(duì)他者形象的分析研究,我們可以更多的了解到康拉德的帝國主義心態(tài)以及這會(huì)給殖民地人民以及殖民者雙方帶來的災(zāi)難。因此,隨著全球化的發(fā)展,不管是東方還是西方,都應(yīng)該追求和諧穩(wěn)定的關(guān)系。土著人需要帶著批判性的思維來看待西方文明和白人,以此來找到屬于自己的身份。西方人也應(yīng)該摒棄西方中心主義的偏見,正確看待東方和東方人。
[Abstract]:Joseph Conrad Joseph Conrad 1857-1924) an English novelist from Poland who played an important role in English literature in the 20th century. Lord Jim 1900 is one of his most influential novels. The novel is known as the first modernist work in English literature in the 20th century. Since it was published, it has attracted much attention from the critics. Critics interpret the novel from different perspectives to enrich its connotation. This paper attempts to use the postcolonial theory of Edward W. Saidn, Edward W. Saidbin (1935-2003), to analyze the portrayal and cultural connotation of the natives in the novel. This paper mainly analyzes the image of "the other" in Lord Jim. The word "other" comes from said's Orientalismhe. Orientalism is a kind of western imperialism. A cultural manipulation and distortion of the East during the colonial era, As the author of Lord Jim, Conrad has a ambivalent attitude toward imperialism. He has an anti-imperialist side. There is also a supportive side. As a British novelist of the twentieth century, he can never get rid of his prejudice against the oriental and his sense of superiority as a westerner. As a novel written to Westerners, he has always been based on the position of Westerners. So there are a lot of depictions that distort the image of the indigenous people in the novel. Through the concrete analysis of the representatives of the indigenous people and the white people, we can understand how the image of the indigenous people is changed by others, how the image of the indigenous people is reconstructed. The image of the indigenous people is distorted. They become silent, even alienated. The oriental world has completely become the world of the other. This paper consists of three parts: the first chapter is Saeed, the author of the theory of the other. Conrad, the author of the novel, and Marlow, the main narrator of the novel, explain in detail that in today's world, In the English and American fictionalists and in the text, the aborigines and the whole East appear in the distorted and distorted image. The second chapter selects two representative characters, two silent subordinates, Dain Waris) and Tambtam Itami. They represent aphasic aborigines, willingly accept marginal identities and positions, and gradually lose the instinct to express and express themselves. Chapter three describes the process of colonial expansion. How whites, like Cornelius and Cornelius, and Half-Blood Yuerli Jewel-are becoming alienated. In fact, whites are ultimately also victims of colonization. Through an analysis of the image of the other, We can learn more about Conrad's imperialist mentality and the disaster it will bring to both the colonists and the colonists.
