現(xiàn)代隱喻理論認(rèn)為隱喻不僅是一種語言層面上的修辭手法,從本質(zhì)上講,它是人類思維活動的基本工具。通過隱喻,我們可以用一些熟悉的具體概念去認(rèn)知一些抽象的概念。我們的概念體系從本質(zhì)上講也是隱喻性的�！半[喻是人們理解抽象概念,進(jìn)行抽象推理的重要機(jī)制”（Lakoff,1993,p.244）.人類存在于特定的時間和空間,并且從中獲得了最初的認(rèn)知能力。與時間概念相比較,空間概念顯得更為根本,我們迄今所熟知的大部分時問概念都是在空間概念的基礎(chǔ)上建立起來的。通過對空間的認(rèn)知,人類獲得最直接、最易懂的體驗,并逐漸探索和認(rèn)識整個世界,并且在不斷的生活體驗和日常積累中形成和完善了對其它抽象概念的認(rèn)知。因此可以說空間概念是人類原始思維的出發(fā)點。是人類認(rèn)知其它概念的基礎(chǔ),空間概念在人類認(rèn)知領(lǐng)域處于主導(dǎo)地位,很多其它領(lǐng)域的認(rèn)知過程都是以空間概念作為基礎(chǔ)展開的。時間是抽象的概念,人們對它難以有直觀的了解。按照認(rèn)知語言學(xué)的假設(shè),空間是人類認(rèn)識時間、把握時間的基礎(chǔ),時間是空間的隱喻。國內(nèi)外學(xué)者分別從不同角度和側(cè)面對“時間是空間”的隱喻作了深入的研究。已有的研究結(jié)果顯示：在特定文化中,人們認(rèn)為時間是有方向性的,而且對于過去與...
