【摘要】：對話是小說中很重要的一部分,是刻畫人物形象、凸顯人物性格特點的有效手段。在翻譯小說時,對其中人物對話的翻譯不容忽視。本文以《阿Q正傳》中的人物對話為語料,采用萊爾的譯本,通過維索爾倫的順應論對其中對話的翻譯進行了研究,旨在探討在對話的翻譯過程中順應論是如何指導譯者做出恰當?shù)倪x擇以滿足譯文讀者的各種需要,以及原文和譯文在對話的語言選擇方面都做出了哪些不同的順應。 維索爾倫的順應論認為語言的使用是在不同的意識程度下為適應交際需要而不斷做出選擇的過程。作為一種跨語言交際活動,翻譯是一個涉及雙語的特殊的選擇過程,從選取原語材料、譯者自身文化立場到翻譯策略和翻譯方法的選擇,無不貫穿著社會、文化、認知等因素的互動選擇機制。語境是語言運用過程中一個非常重要的因素,而翻譯更是涉及了兩種語境。本文從順應論中語境關系順應的角度出發(fā),探討了語境順應在小說對話翻譯中的運用以及對其的重要意義。 本文首先介紹了小說對話的特點、功能以及對其翻譯的研究現(xiàn)狀,指出目前的研究仍然存在著許多不足之處,接著綜述順應論對翻譯所做出的研究,進一步證明了該理論對翻譯具有一定的解釋力,但是把它運用于小說對話翻譯的研究還略顯不足。因此,本文提出將語境順應應用于小說對話的翻譯中,構(gòu)建了自己的理論框架。在翻譯小說對話的過程中,譯者要做出恰當?shù)恼Z言選擇來順應維索爾倫所提的語境的五個方面,即語言使用者、心理世界、社交世界、物理世界和語言語境。作為兩種語言的中介人,譯者不僅要考慮順應譯文的語境還要盡可能的保留原文的特色。本研究通過結(jié)合從《阿Q正傳》及其英譯本中選取的對話作語料進行了詳細的分析,發(fā)現(xiàn)在翻譯過程中譯者從不同的角度出發(fā),在語境的五個方面上都做出了相應的順應,并且譯文在順應讀者的各種語境因素的基礎上還保留了原文的風格和特色。而為了達到這一目的,譯者采用了不同的翻譯方法,如：加腳注,添加解釋性詞語,直譯等。此外,本文通過對比原文和譯文中的對話,發(fā)現(xiàn)原文作者和譯者在對話的語言選擇上都順應了各自讀者的認知、文化、時間方位指示和語言表達方式等因素。 順應論對小說對話的翻譯起著相當重要的指導作用。將其應用于小說對話翻譯,為小說對話翻譯研究提供了一種新思路,同時也擴大了翻譯研究的視野,為譯者提供了一種較新的指導方法。
