　　凱瑟琳．曼斯菲爾德（1888-1923）是一位享有“短篇小說(shuō)大師”稱(chēng)號(hào)的 女作家。她1888年生于新西蘭惠靈頓。1908年，年青的曼斯菲爾德離開(kāi)新 西蘭，獨(dú)身前往英國(guó)尋求她的作家之夢(mèng)。 1911年，她的第一部短篇小說(shuō)選集《德國(guó)公寓》出版，但該書(shū)并未引 起太大的注意。1921年出版的《幸福集》，為她帶來(lái)了極大的聲譽(yù)。論者認(rèn) 為該書(shū)中的每一個(gè)故事都是精確的觀(guān)察，加上精確的表達(dá)。其中的《序曲》 無(wú)論對(duì)曼斯菲爾德自己，還是對(duì)于英國(guó)短篇小說(shuō)都是一種突破。1922年，她 的另一個(gè)優(yōu)秀短篇小說(shuō)選集《游園茶會(huì)集》出版，這是她生前出版的最后一 本小說(shuō)集。它的出版從此奠定了她在英國(guó)文壇上的地位。 1918年，她感染了肺結(jié)核病，飽受病魔折磨。并于1923年2月死于法國(guó)。 她死后，她的丈夫莫雷編輯她的遺稿，出版了《鴿巢集》（1923年）和《稚氣 集》（1924年）。1927年出...
