本翻譯報(bào)告基于美國(guó)記者艾米麗·張（Emily Chang）所著的《男性烏托邦——摧毀硅谷男性俱樂部》（Bropotia:Breaking Up the Boys’Club of Silicon Valley）。該書揭露了硅谷里的男權(quán)地位,描述了硅谷中從事科技行業(yè)女性的真實(shí)情況。作者在書中描寫了光鮮表面下真實(shí)的硅谷,得到了讀者的好評(píng),諸多硅谷內(nèi)行人士也不乏溢美之詞。本書于2019年2月出版,據(jù)譯者調(diào)查,目前國(guó)內(nèi)還沒有中文譯本出版。作為一名記者,艾米麗·張的新聞報(bào)道寫作風(fēng)格在該書中也有體現(xiàn)。書中引用了大量對(duì)話和數(shù)據(jù)來證實(shí)其真實(shí)性。本書語言偏口語化,較容易理解。然而大量口語表達(dá)所體現(xiàn)的文化差異給譯者和讀者造成了一定的理解困難,如俚語的使用和不規(guī)范的語法形式。本書作為一部描寫硅谷女性生存狀況的著作,不可避免地會(huì)涉及女性遭受的職場(chǎng)性騷擾,作者也將這些講述人的性騷擾經(jīng)歷毫不避諱地講了出來,類似描述在中文出版物中還較為少見,因此譯者需要妥善處理這些描述,使其更能為目標(biāo)語文化讀者接受。此外,這本書大部分是作者引用的女性受訪者的對(duì)話,對(duì)話中包含大量臟話和粗話,可能會(huì)對(duì)中文讀者造成很大的“沖擊”,因此,譯...
