傳記是一種文學形式,大體分為歷史性傳記和傳記文學。20世紀以來,澳大利亞文學取得了很多成就。近年來,澳大利亞文學作品的中文譯本越來越多。但是目前,國內(nèi)研究英美文學的的學者仍然多于研究澳大利亞文學的學者。而且,英美文學的研究系統(tǒng)不如澳大利亞文學體系完善。國內(nèi)學者對于伊麗莎白·喬利作品的研究不多。本次翻譯實踐材料主要介紹了伊麗莎白·喬利的創(chuàng)作經(jīng)歷以及喬利出版的相關(guān)作品。目前,越來越多的學者研究傳記。通過傳記的研究可以了解作者生活的歷史以及作者作品中傳達的主題。該篇翻譯實踐材料主要選取了澳大利亞作家布萊恩·迪波爾為澳大利亞小說家伊麗莎白·喬利撰寫的傳記《有所作為的生命:伊麗莎白·喬利傳記》的第九章。該書由西澳大利亞大學于1998年8月出版。本次翻譯實踐文本主要分為四個部分:任務(wù)描述、任務(wù)描述翻譯過程介紹、案例分析以及結(jié)論。本次翻譯實踐材料中的副詞尤其是以ly結(jié)尾的副詞以及狀語從句的翻譯具有代表性。譯者在英國著名翻譯家彼得·紐馬克提出的關(guān)聯(lián)翻譯理論的指導下,研究傳記語言中以ly結(jié)尾的副詞以及狀語從句的英譯漢的翻譯策略。通過該翻譯實踐報告可以讓更多的學者了解澳大利亞文化、澳大利亞作家伊麗莎白·喬...
