[Abstract]:When Max Weber (Max Weber) argued in 1917 that the world had been disenchanted, he meant to understand modernity. The best way to understand the expansion of the "technological means" of "controlling everything through calculation" is that the real power of these means lies not in the methods and systems of technology, but in the propensity of its users. It lies in their unshakable confidence in the "mysterious and incalculable power" that cannot be calculated and controlled, which in principle "does not exist."
