【摘要】：中國(guó)佛教術(shù)語(yǔ)多來(lái)自古印度佛教的梵文譯詞(以下簡(jiǎn)稱漢譯梵詞),如何處理漢譯梵詞將決定《西游記》英譯文能否真實(shí)地呈現(xiàn)佛教文化的魅力。本文試通過(guò)對(duì)最具代表性的英國(guó)詹納爾版《西游記》全譯本與美國(guó)余國(guó)藩版《西游記》全譯本(以下簡(jiǎn)稱《西游記》英譯本)中漢譯梵詞的英譯進(jìn)行舉例和分析,探討漢譯梵詞在《西游記》英譯本中的體現(xiàn)及其翻譯方法。
[Abstract]:Most Chinese Buddhist terms come from Sanskrit translation of ancient Indian Buddhism (hereinafter referred to as Chinese translation of Brahma words), how to deal with Chinese-translated Brahma words will determine whether the English translation of Journey to the West can truly present the charm of Buddhist culture. This paper attempts to illustrate and analyze the English translation of the Vatican words in the most representative English version of Jenner's Edition of Journey to the West and the full version of Yu Guofan's edition of Journey to the West (hereinafter referred to as the English version of Journey to the West). This paper probes into the embodiment of the Chinese translation of the Vatican ci in the English translation of Journey to the West and its translation methods.
