從斯坦納的翻譯闡釋觀看譯者主體性在斯奈德寒山詩英譯本中的體現(xiàn)

【摘要】:作為翻譯活動的中心和主體,譯者在翻譯理論研究發(fā)展的漫長歷史中被長期置于邊緣地位。傳統(tǒng)譯論又注重對原作的忠實,因此譯者在翻譯過程中須盡力向原作靠攏,且避免自己的主體意識強行加入其中。二十世紀七八十年代,隨著翻譯理論的“文化轉向”,譯者的主體作用及地位越來越受到中外理論家的重視,在翻譯研究中的作用逐漸彰顯,并且成為譯學研究的熱點。多種學科門類將自己的理論特質與翻譯理論結合,,這其中作為一門對意義的理解和解釋的理論,闡釋學無疑為譯者主體性研究提供了全新的理論視角。 斯坦納將闡釋翻譯過程分為信賴、侵入、吸收和補償。這四個步驟重點強調翻譯過程中譯者理解與表達的具體關系和聯(lián)系過程。譯者首先通過審美判斷選擇翻譯文本,信賴原語文本的意義;在翻譯階段,譯者可能要面對來自原文的敵意和抵抗,所以兼具讀者和闡釋者兩種文學身份的譯者要充分發(fā)揮其主觀能動性,“侵入”原文,進行近乎“暴力”的闡釋和翻譯;然后汲取原文本的語言、文化信息,再現(xiàn)原作的思想信息、審美信息和語言風格,傳達異域文化的意蘊;最后,為實現(xiàn)原作與譯作之間的譯者要盡力做出補償以恢復譯作與原作的平衡。 本文以斯坦納在哲學闡釋學基礎上提出的翻譯四步驟為本研究的理論框架,以斯奈德寒山詩英譯本作為個案研究對象,嘗試運用斯坦納的四個具體運作步驟闡釋譯者主體性這個抽象概念,以期揭示作為翻譯主體的譯者的能動作用貫穿于整個翻譯的動態(tài)過程,為進一步確立譯者主體的地位和作用提供理論依據。
[Abstract]:As the center and subject of translation activities, the translator has been marginalized for a long time in the long history of the development of translation theory. Traditional translation theory also pays attention to the faithfulness of the original, so the translator should try his best to approach the original in the process of translation. In 20th century, with the "cultural turn" of translation theory, the role and status of the translator has been paid more and more attention by Chinese and foreign theorists. The role of translation studies has gradually become more and more prominent, and has become a hot topic in translation studies. Various disciplines combine their theoretical characteristics with translation theories, which are regarded as a theory of understanding and interpretation of meaning. Hermeneutics undoubtedly provides a new theoretical perspective for the study of translator's subjectivity. Steiner divides the process of interpretation into trust, invasion, absorption and compensation. These four steps emphasize the concrete relationship and connection process of the translator's understanding and expression in the process of translation. First, the translator chooses the translated text through aesthetic judgment. Depending on the meaning of the source text, the translator may have to face the hostility and resistance from the source text in the translation stage, so the translator, who has two literary identities, the reader and the interpreter, should give full play to his subjective initiative and "invade" the original text. To interpret and translate the language and culture of the original text, to reproduce the ideological information, aesthetic information and language style of the original text, and to convey the meaning of the foreign culture. In order to realize the balance between the original and the original, the translator should try his best to compensate for it. This thesis takes the four steps of translation proposed by Steiner on the basis of philosophical hermeneutics as the theoretical framework and takes the English translation of Snyder Hanshan poetry as the case study object. This paper attempts to explain the abstract concept of the translator's subjectivity by using Steiner's four specific operational steps in order to reveal that the translator's dynamic role as the subject of translation runs through the whole dynamic process of translation. It provides a theoretical basis for further establishing the status and role of the translator's subject.
