家庭語言政策與兒童文化認同建構 ——兩例民族志個案研究

家庭語言政策是指用來規(guī)劃家庭成員之間具體的語言管理和語言實踐活動(King&Fogle 2013)。當前,針對家庭語言政策與兒童文化認同的研究明顯存在不足。本文借助Spolsky(2004)的“語言政策模型”和Darvin與Norton(2015)的“新投資模型”,通過民族志的研究方法,探究在家庭語言政策的影響下,處在語言習得關鍵期和文化認同關鍵期的兒童如何建構文化認同。本研究的兩組家庭均具有為兒童投資語言學習的“經(jīng)濟資本”,且父母都受過良好的教育。研究結論發(fā)現(xiàn)如下:第一,A家庭實行雙語教育政策,兒童表現(xiàn)出的文化認一種混合認同,她能較好的區(qū)分兩種不同的文化,一方面,可以很流利地說著英語,接受西方文化;另一方面,對母語文化有著濃厚的興趣,喜歡讀中國古代故事。B家庭主要以母語學習為主,英語學習存在不連貫性。因此,隨著長時間的母語文化教育,該兒童建構了穩(wěn)固的母語文化認同。第二,家庭語言政策對兒童文化認同有直接作用,父母的語言意識形態(tài)在家庭語言政策中起主導作用,并影響兒童的文化認同的建構,家庭的語言管理和投資行為折射了父母對孩子的文化認同;家庭語言政策對兒童母語文化認同是積極維護的,兩...
