【摘要】：在Renouf (2005)看來，語料庫語言學代表了一種特殊的語言學方法，它由實證觀察和對真實文本的分析組成，這些文本包括口頭和書面的。而以語料庫為基礎的研究已經(jīng)被廣泛地用在語言學研究領域，這些研究通常探討搭配，句法結構，語義和語用，話語分析和社會文化。當前研究以筆者自建的兩個語料庫為基礎，探討中國英語專業(yè)學生碩士論文和英語本族語學生英語專業(yè)碩士論文中轉折連接詞的使用情況。本文主要探索三個問題：第一，中國學生和本族語學生相比，在轉折連接詞的使用上，有何異同（如頻率，多樣性和位置等）？第二，和本族語語料庫相比，學習者語料庫是否存在轉折連接詞的過度使用或少用？第三，和本族語語料庫相比，學習者語料庫是否存在轉折連接詞的誤用？ 學習者語料庫由29篇中國英語專業(yè)碩士論文組成，而參考語料庫即本族語語料庫則由24篇碩士論文組成，這些論文全部來自ProQuest-PQDT，為了確保都是本族語學生，筆者參照了其英語名字。這些文章的字數(shù)和句子總數(shù)都由MicroSmithTools (第6版)統(tǒng)計，在統(tǒng)計的時候，每篇文章的附錄都排除在外。 12個常用轉折連接詞被作為研究對象：but, while, although, whereas, ratherthan, though, however, yet, on the other hand, nevertheless, instead, on the contrary。只統(tǒng)計這些詞作為“對比”或“轉折讓步”的意思的頻率，另外，引文和參考文獻的這些詞不作統(tǒng)計。每個轉折連接詞出現(xiàn)的頻率和語境由MicroSmith Tools (第6版)統(tǒng)計。 基于定量和定性分析，本研究有兩個發(fā)現(xiàn)：第一，中國英語專業(yè)碩士研究生和英語本族語研究生相比，會傾向于少用轉折連接詞；第二，在轉折連接詞的使用上，中國英語專業(yè)碩士研究生通常犯的四類錯誤有：句子片段；重復疊用；不合邏輯；連接詞使用單一。而負遷移和缺乏句法及語義知識造成了轉折連接詞的誤用。 本研究有三個教學啟示：第一，教師應該強調連接詞的具體用法及其區(qū)分，在教學材料的使用上盡可能選用真實的文本；第二，學生應該被告知相似連接詞的句法或語義區(qū)別，而不是教他們代替使用，這樣才能避免負遷移。第三，，字典應該給出連接詞的詳細用法，以供參考。
