基于調(diào)型理論的英漢句調(diào)對(duì)比研究
[Abstract]:Intonation, the tone of speech, is the disposition and variation of the tone in a sentence. In a sentence there is intonation as well as lexical meaning. The meaning of intonation refers to the attitude or tone expressed by the speaker in intonation. Generally speaking, English is a kind of intonation (non-tone) language, Chinese is a tone language. As the intonation and tone formation are closely related to pitch, the two languages will inevitably present different pitch systems. Influenced by the tone and intonation of Chinese, it is difficult for Chinese English learners to grasp the complex intonation changes in English and often confuse the differences between intonation, which leads to misunderstanding and ambiguity in communication with native English speakers. How to get rid of the influence of Chinese tone and how to master the pronunciation rules of English intonation is very important for Chinese English learners. The present study aims to provide theoretical guidance for Chinese EFL learners to better grasp the pronunciation rules of English intonation by comparing and analyzing the similarities and differences between English and Chinese sentence tones. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. This paper introduces the background, purpose and significance of this study and the text structure of the thesis. The second chapter is a literature review. This paper summarizes the previous analysis of intonation and the research results of English intonation and Chinese intonation. The third chapter contrasts English and Chinese sentences. This paper analyzes the relationship between tone group, tone nucleus and tone type in intonation, the function and type of intonation, the difference between tone and intonation in Chinese, the function of boundary tone in Chinese sentence tone, and the type and significance of intonation in Chinese. Chapter four contrasts the functions of English and Chinese intonation. Based on the theory of marker, this paper classifies English sentence tone as marked or unmarked, and probes into the relationship between sentence pattern and sentence tone in English and Chinese sentence tone. Chapter five is the conclusion. This paper summarizes the similarities and differences between English and Chinese sentence tones, provides guidance for Chinese EFL learners, and points out the shortcomings of this paper, and puts forward some suggestions for further study.
