【摘要】：基于有20億詞匯規(guī)模的"牛津英語語料庫",對元語言評述術(shù)語"混合隱喻"的使用情況進(jìn)行研究。從該語料庫中含"混合隱喻"這一術(shù)語的141個例子的上下文語境入手,探討"混合隱喻"使用者明確關(guān)注的"混合隱喻"種類和使用情況。試圖揭示:大眾理解的"混合隱喻"與學(xué)術(shù)文獻(xiàn)中作為專業(yè)術(shù)語的"混合隱喻"存在不相一致的現(xiàn)象。基于此,闡述本研究對隱喻理論的啟示意義。本文關(guān)注不同文類中"混合隱喻"這一術(shù)語的使用情況,句法層級與隱喻"混用"的認(rèn)知關(guān)聯(lián)性,探討使用"混合隱喻"這一元語言標(biāo)簽背后可能的語用意圖。本研究基本證實了一個廣為認(rèn)同的觀點:"混合隱喻"這一術(shù)語蘊(yùn)含了對某一語段及其作者的負(fù)面評價。然而,在為數(shù)極少的例子中,"混合隱喻"這一術(shù)語作為一種幽默用法,指對隱喻的創(chuàng)造性使用,語言的這種創(chuàng)造性使用不僅機(jī)智詼諧而且效果非凡。
[Abstract]:Based on the Oxford English Corpus, which has a size of 2 billion words, this paper studies the use of the meta term "mixed metaphor". Starting with the contextual context of 141 examples of the term "mixed metaphor" in the corpus, this paper discusses the types and use of "mixed metaphor" which the users of "mixed metaphor" are clearly concerned about. This paper attempts to reveal that the "mixed metaphor" understood by the public does not coincide with the "mixed metaphor" as a specialized term in academic literature. Based on this, the significance of this study to metaphor theory is expounded. This paper focuses on the use of the term "mixed metaphor" in different literary categories, the cognitive relationship between syntactic hierarchy and metaphor "mixed use", and discusses the possible pragmatic intent behind the use of "mixed metaphor" as a meta-linguistic label. The present study basically confirms a widely accepted view that the term "mixed metaphor" implies negative comments on a certain paragraph and its authors. However, in very few cases, the term "mixed metaphor", as a humorous use, refers to the creative use of metaphor, which is not only witty but also effective.
