【摘要】：海事英語作為專門用途英語對(duì)促進(jìn)人類的文化交流和各國(guó)的海事貿(mào)易往來變得不可缺少。由于海事英語本身的特殊性,作為有別于普通英語的更具工具性的語言,海事英語詞匯有很強(qiáng)的專業(yè)特色。海事英語中的多義詞現(xiàn)象,即在普通英語有著熟知的普通意義的單詞,在海事英語中卻有著完全不同的專業(yè)上的意義,是這一特色的重要組成部分。本文選取海事英語常見的多義詞作為研究對(duì)象。作者搜集相關(guān)數(shù)據(jù),自建200萬字語料庫(kù),并運(yùn)用BNC普通英語語料庫(kù)作為對(duì)比語料庫(kù),從詞匯學(xué)、語義學(xué)及語料庫(kù)語言學(xué)角度對(duì)海事英語常見的多義詞進(jìn)行分析,并揭示其特點(diǎn)。通過研究分析其分布、詞義、詞源、搭配及類聯(lián)接。得出海事英語常見的多義詞具有以下特點(diǎn):1.海事英語和普通英語中多義詞的分布不同。動(dòng)詞性多義詞在海事英語預(yù)料庫(kù)中出現(xiàn)頻數(shù)極低,普通英語語料庫(kù)中的高頻名詞性多義詞,除pin、jacket、lock和rack外,在海事英語語料庫(kù)中使用頻數(shù)也較高。2.海事英語中多義詞的詞義多與航海、輪機(jī)、航運(yùn)相關(guān),屬于科技英語詞匯。3.在所研究的目標(biāo)詞中,大多數(shù)多義詞源于古法語和拉丁語。4.海事英語中多義詞多與具有海事相關(guān)詞義的詞搭配。5.海事英語中動(dòng)詞性多義詞的類聯(lián)接型式多為動(dòng)賓結(jié)構(gòu),名詞性多義詞多與介詞和修飾詞構(gòu)成類聯(lián)接。本研究有助于海事英語的學(xué)習(xí)以及英語詞典的編寫。
[Abstract]:As a special purpose English, maritime English is indispensable to promote the cultural exchange of human beings and the maritime trade of various countries. Due to the particularity of Maritime English itself, as a more instrumental language different from ordinary English, Maritime English vocabulary has a strong professional characteristics. The phenomenon of polysemous words in maritime English, which is a familiar word in general English, has a completely different professional meaning in maritime English, which is an important part of this feature. In this paper, the common polysemous words in Maritime English are chosen as the research object. The author collects relevant data, builds a 2 million word corpus, and uses BNC general English corpus as a comparative corpus to analyze common polysemous words in maritime English from the perspectives of lexicology, semantics and corpus linguistics, and to reveal their characteristics. By studying its distribution, etymology, collocation and class connection. It is concluded that the common polysemous words in Maritime English have the following characteristics: 1. The distribution of polysemous words in maritime English is different from that in general English. The frequency of verb polysemous words is very low in marine English prediction database. Besides pin,jacket,lock and rack, the frequency of high frequency noun polysemous words in general English corpus is also higher. 2. The meaning of polysemous words in maritime English is related to navigation, marine engineering and shipping. Most of the polysemous words studied originated in ancient French and Latin. 4. Many polysemous words in Maritime English are collocated with words with maritime related meanings. 5. In marine English, the verb polysemous words are mostly of verb-object structure, and the nominal polysemous words are composed of prepositions and modifiers. This study is helpful to the study of maritime English and the compilation of English dictionaries.
