【摘要】：理解古籍,若脫離時代背景及具體語境,其含義往往游移不定。《史記》《漢書》中"非吏比者""文無害""百二""十二"四詞自南北朝以來出現(xiàn)了諸多解說,究其根源,即在于此。"非吏比者"當是"非"和"吏比者"并列的兩個詞語,同時修飾三老和北邊騎士。"文無害"則是秦漢時人對于"文法吏"的品評用語,含義是"深明文法而不刻害"。"百二""十二"應(yīng)該解釋為"百之二倍""十之二倍",才能體現(xiàn)出田肯強調(diào)齊秦地勢險固且相當?shù)脑?而此時"百之二倍(為二百)""十之二倍(為二十)"的實質(zhì)其實是一個比值為二的比率,其中的"百""十"并沒有數(shù)學上的含義,只是用于文學修飾。
