[Abstract]:Reviewing and reviewing the path of Asian-American historiography in the past half century, it can be found that one of the most prominent problems in early Asian-American historiography is the ideologically dominated monistic view of history. In the past 30 years, most scholars have interpreted historical events only from the perspective of "racial discrimination" and opposed observing the experiences of Asian immigrants from other perspectives. In the last 15 years, however, there has been a trend to break through the shackles of monism in this field. A new generation of scholars put forward the argument of triangular relationship among whites, blacks and Asians, thus negating the theoretical model of double race relations between color and white species. Those who observe the history of Asian-American from the perspective of "transnationalism" believe that Asian immigrants actually have dual nationalism and dual cultural identity, thus challenging the theory of assimilation, the theory of settlers and the theory of Americanization. They also found that Japanese immigration to the United States was inextricably linked to the overseas expansion of Japanese imperialism. These new trends mark the gradual maturity of Asian-American historiography.
