艾米莉·勃朗特是一位偉大的作家,她的小說《呼嘯山莊》早已步入經(jīng)典的行列,成為大學(xué)英文專業(yè)的必讀書。國內(nèi)外對《呼嘯山莊》的批評用汗牛充棟來形容也不為過,幾乎所有二十世紀(jì)的文藝?yán)碚摱荚挥脕斫庾x這部魅力十足的作品,新近勃興的敘事理論也在此列。本文將以閃回手法作為切入點(diǎn),結(jié)合小說敘事發(fā)展,來闡釋《呼嘯山莊》在懸念制造、敘事視角轉(zhuǎn)化方面的獨(dú)特性,從而能為對這部作品的解讀做出一份貢獻(xiàn)。 這篇論文由兩個章節(jié)和一個引言與結(jié)語構(gòu)成。 引言部分主要介紹國內(nèi)外對艾米麗·勃朗特和《呼嘯山莊》的研究狀況。 第一章第一節(jié)簡要梳理了敘事理論,第二節(jié)界定了閃回概念,第三節(jié)中則總結(jié)了過去從敘事角度對《呼嘯山莊》做出的闡釋,并提出了閃回?cái)⑹碌莫?dú)特性。 第二章第一節(jié)指明了《呼嘯山莊》中所出現(xiàn)的閃回現(xiàn)象,第二節(jié)則從三個方面指明閃回的運(yùn)用在小說敘事中的作用,如制造懸念、敘事者轉(zhuǎn)換等。第三節(jié)指出了閃回?cái)⑹略谛≌f中的形式以及寫作中的其他形式。 論文的結(jié)語部分總結(jié)了論文的觀點(diǎn),指出《呼嘯山莊》之所以能取得如此的成就,在相當(dāng)程度上是閃回運(yùn)用的結(jié)果。
