論V.S.奈保爾的游記文學(xué)

【摘要】:V.S.奈保爾是一位受到多重文化影響的移民作家。他的祖先之邦是印度,出生于特立尼達(dá),生活在英國(guó),多重的文化背景導(dǎo)致了他有一種對(duì)于自身文化身份的不斷追尋和探索的熱情。這種熱情見(jiàn)于他的小說(shuō),亦見(jiàn)于他的非虛構(gòu)類作品。他的非虛構(gòu)類作品由于混雜了多種文體而獨(dú)具一格。 本文以奈保爾非虛構(gòu)類作品中的游記為研究對(duì)象,在細(xì)讀文本的基礎(chǔ)上,對(duì)他的游記作品主題進(jìn)行逐一分析,由此總結(jié)出奈保爾游記創(chuàng)作的特點(diǎn),并以后殖民理論為支撐,通過(guò)分析奈保爾的“無(wú)根人”、“流散者”特質(zhì),指出他游記創(chuàng)作的終極目的是進(jìn)行自我身份的追尋。 全文除了緒論和結(jié)語(yǔ)分為五個(gè)部分: 緒論部分概述了國(guó)內(nèi)外的奈保爾研究現(xiàn)狀,并指出國(guó)內(nèi)對(duì)奈保爾游記文學(xué)的研究還不夠完善。以及游記文學(xué)對(duì)于奈保爾的意義。 主體分為五個(gè)部分:第一章是對(duì)奈保爾游記文學(xué)特點(diǎn)的整體概述。首先對(duì)比了奈保爾的游記文學(xué)與英國(guó)不同時(shí)期游記文學(xué),指出奈保爾的游記文學(xué)繼承并發(fā)展了英國(guó)游記文學(xué)的傳統(tǒng)。接著指出游記文學(xué)的寫作就是他進(jìn)行文化身份認(rèn)同的方式。最后分析了奈保爾游記雜糅性的特點(diǎn)。 第二、三、四章具體分析了奈保爾各部游記的主題以及奈保爾對(duì)他所訪問(wèn)過(guò)的國(guó)家的態(tài)度和評(píng)論。通過(guò)文本分析,可以看出奈保爾對(duì)這些國(guó)家和地區(qū)始終抱有一種“東方主義”視角下的批判態(tài)度。 第五章通過(guò)分析奈保爾最近的兩部游記《南方一瞥》和《印度:百萬(wàn)叛變的今天》,指出奈保爾的敘述方式由作者的主觀講:述到主客觀敘述相結(jié)合的轉(zhuǎn)變。這種轉(zhuǎn)變也意味著奈保爾擺脫了單純的“東方主義”視角走向了兼容并包。 最后一部分為結(jié)語(yǔ),主要分析了奈保爾對(duì)他所來(lái)自的三種文化背景的即親近又疏離的態(tài)度。這種態(tài)度不僅造就了奈保爾文化“無(wú)根者”的身份,也使得他的游記作品呈現(xiàn)雜糅的特點(diǎn)。而這種新型的游記文體也為其它和他經(jīng)歷類似的移民作家的寫作提供了新的參考。
[Abstract]:V.S. Naipaul is an immigrant writer influenced by many cultures. His ancestral state is India, born in Trinidad and living in England. His cultural background has led him to pursue and explore his own cultural identity. This enthusiasm can be found in his novels as well as in his non-fiction works. His non-fiction works are unique because of their mixed styles. This paper takes the travels of Naipaul's nonfiction works as the research object, on the basis of reading the text carefully, analyzes the themes of his travels one by one, and sums up the characteristics of Naipaul's travels, which is supported by the later colonial theory. Through the analysis of Naipaul's "Rootless Man" and "diaspora", it is pointed out that the ultimate purpose of his travel creation is to pursue his own identity. In addition to the introduction and the conclusion, the full text is divided into five parts: the introduction part summarizes the current situation of Naipaul research at home and abroad, and points out that the domestic study on Naipaul's travels literature is not perfect enough. And the meaning of travel literature to Naipaul. The main body is divided into five parts: the first chapter is an overview of the literary characteristics of Naipaul's travels. This paper first compares Naipaul's travel literature with English travel literature in different periods, and points out that Naipaul's travel literature inherits and develops the tradition of English travel literature. Then it is pointed out that the writing of travel literature is the way of his cultural identity. Finally, the characteristics of the hybridity of Naipaul's travels are analyzed. The second, third and fourth chapters analyze the theme of Naipaul's travels and his attitude and comments on the countries he visited. Through text analysis, we can see that Naipaul always has a critical attitude towards these countries and regions from the perspective of Orientalism. The fifth chapter points out that Naipaul's narrative style is changed from subjective narration to the combination of subjective and objective narration by analyzing two recent travels of Naipaul, A glimpse of the South and India: a million Rebellion Today. This shift also means that Naipaul has moved from a purely "oriental" perspective to inclusiveness. The last part is the conclusion, which mainly analyzes Naipaul's attitude towards the three cultural backgrounds from which he comes from. This attitude not only made Naipaul culture "rootless" identity, but also made his travel works show the characteristics of hybridity. This new type of travel style also provides a new reference for other immigrant writers who have experienced similar experiences.
