【摘要】：湯亭亭在《中國佬》中植入多種圖像符號,圖像符號與文字符號一起構(gòu)建文本表征系統(tǒng),直接參與到意義的編碼與生產(chǎn)之中。圖像符號本身因其豐富性和系統(tǒng)性而構(gòu)成一個視覺表征系統(tǒng),與文字表征系統(tǒng)形成互相闡發(fā)、互相碰撞的互文性關(guān)系,混合交織而成圖像句子,不斷地為小說文本生成新的意義。表征文本是權(quán)力斗爭的主要場所,在《中國佬》的視覺表征體系中,"帝國權(quán)力"將包括華裔、越南人在內(nèi)的亞洲群體表征為屬下與他者。作為掌握"在地權(quán)力"的邊緣群體的一員,湯亭亭借助"在地化文本"進行反表征——運用圖像句子來質(zhì)詢"帝國權(quán)力"將華人祖輩從主流歷史中抹除,通過定型化的意指實踐將其種族化、他者化,從而建構(gòu)華裔族群自己的歷史與身份。
[Abstract]:Maxine Hong Kingston inserts a variety of image symbols in Chinatown. Image symbols and text symbols construct a text representation system directly involved in the coding and production of meaning. Because of its richness and systematicness, the image symbol forms a visual representation system, and forms the intertextuality relation of explaining and colliding with the character representation system, and interweaves it into a picture sentence. Constantly generating new meaning for the novel text. The representation text is the main place of power struggle. In the visual representation system of "Chinatown", "Imperial Power" represents Asian groups including Chinese and Vietnamese as subordinates and others. As a member of the marginal group that grasps "local power", Maxine Hong Kingston uses "local text" to counter representation-using image sentences to question "imperial power" and erasing Chinese ancestors from mainstream history. By means of stereotyping, it means that it is racialized and other-oriented in practice, so as to construct the history and identity of the Chinese ethnic group itself.
