《喜福會(huì)》和《無(wú)聲告白》:美籍華裔小說(shuō)女兒形象研究

美國(guó)華裔文學(xué)在近幾十年來(lái)頗受學(xué)者關(guān)注,其中譚恩美和被稱(chēng)為“譚恩美第二”的伍綺詩(shī)兩位女性作家分別憑借處女作《喜福會(huì)》和《無(wú)聲告白》斬獲美國(guó)各大文學(xué)大獎(jiǎng),好評(píng)如潮。《喜福會(huì)》發(fā)表于1989年,描寫(xiě)四對(duì)美國(guó)華裔母女之間的代溝和沖突,反映了中國(guó)式母親和美國(guó)式女兒之間的文化碰撞與隔閡,以及女兒們?nèi)绾卧诎兹酥髁魃鐣?huì)的夾縫中苦苦尋覓著“我是誰(shuí)”這一身份困惑的答案以及重塑自身身份的過(guò)程。2014年發(fā)表的《無(wú)聲告白》描述了一個(gè)美國(guó)跨族裔家庭中的美國(guó)式女兒莉迪亞在華裔父親和白人母親雙重希冀與壓力下,尋求自我救贖的心路過(guò)程。本文首先梳理兩部小說(shuō)中五位二代美籍華裔女性的形象特點(diǎn),將其分為順從者、叛逆者以及家庭的守護(hù)者,聯(lián)系同時(shí)期美國(guó)社會(huì)歷史背景可以看出盡管時(shí)代不同,生活在美國(guó)的華裔女性同樣遭受著來(lái)自性別和種族的雙重歧視。接著運(yùn)用創(chuàng)傷理論,結(jié)合母親們的個(gè)人創(chuàng)傷經(jīng)歷,分析中國(guó)母親和美國(guó)母親對(duì)女兒的教育悲劇的成因:前者貫徹根深蒂固的傳統(tǒng)中國(guó)式價(jià)值觀;后者將其夢(mèng)想施加于女兒身上。在這種環(huán)境下,年青一代重復(fù)著來(lái)自上一代的創(chuàng)傷,為此困擾,迷失在家長(zhǎng)的關(guān)愛(ài)和壓力之下。盡管在文化背景與成長(zhǎng)環(huán)境等因素上不同,兩部作品都抨擊了男...
