喬治·蕭伯納（1856-1950）被公認為是繼莎士比亞之后又一偉大的英國劇作家,作為一名現(xiàn)實主義劇作家,其作品往往傳遞深刻的社會意義,同時,他也強調(diào)文學的道德功能。作品《皮格馬利翁》講述了一個相貌清麗出身貧寒的街頭賣花女伊莉莎,通過接受語言學家西斯金的六個月語言訓練以及上流社會的禮儀學習,成功地轉(zhuǎn)變談吐高雅,儀態(tài)端莊的貴族小姐。而伊莉莎在經(jīng)歷身份轉(zhuǎn)變過程中,對之前認同的自身身份迷惘困惑,并因此尋求身份的重新界定。前人對于該作品的討論主要集中在該劇的女性主義批評,存在主義批評以及原型批評等,而伊莉莎在身份探求以及身份認同的問題上并沒有得到太多關(guān)注。有鑒于此,本文試圖運用身份認同相關(guān)理論來探究《皮格馬利翁》中伊莉莎的身份問題以及伊莉莎轉(zhuǎn)變之后的身份構(gòu)建問題,進而挖掘蕭伯納劇作的社會道德意義。論文分為五個部分。第一部分介紹了作者喬治·蕭伯納和他的《皮格馬利翁》、相關(guān)的社會認同理論、國內(nèi)外對于作品作家的研究現(xiàn)狀,研究的視角以及本文的結(jié)構(gòu)。第二章從社會分類,社會比較和積極區(qū)分三個方面探究作為社會底層的賣花女的伊莉莎的身份問題。伊莉莎屬于英國底層階級的一員。本章介紹伊莉莎在早期中對所屬群體和社會環(huán)...
