【摘要】：本文以薩義德的東方主義為理論框架,對賽珍珠在《大地》中是如何解構(gòu)東方主義文學(xué)傳統(tǒng),構(gòu)建鄉(xiāng)土中國形象進行跨文化分析。薩義德認為東方主義是西方關(guān)于東方的話語形式,從本質(zhì)上說,是處于強勢地位的西方長期主宰、重構(gòu)和話語權(quán)威壓迫處于弱勢的東方的一種方式。在東西方二元對立的基礎(chǔ)上,西方將東方看作“他者”,并將其推向自己的對立面,對東方“他者”形象進行扭曲和貶損,以此突顯出自我的優(yōu)越性。這種認識體系與西方殖民主義與帝國主義緊密聯(lián)系在一起。說到底,東方主義是殖民主義和霸權(quán)主義的一種文化折射。本文基于東方主義理論,結(jié)合賽珍珠所處的歷史文化語境,對賽珍珠的作品《大地》進行了跨文化分析�！洞蟮亍肥窃谥形魃鐣趁裾Z境下完成的文本,因此具有殖民背景。半殖民地半封建社會的中國和以儒家思想為核心的封建主體政治文化,為賽珍珠在《大地》中描繪的農(nóng)民生活提供了社會根源和民族心理原因。自鴉片戰(zhàn)爭之后,西方帝國主義國家一直企圖對中國進行殖民統(tǒng)治和文化控制,西方的傳教活動是對中國文化侵入極其重要的形式之一。在20世紀30年代之前,西方對中國一直存在偏見。在西方人眼中,中國是原始、落后、野蠻、弱小的形象,中國的文化被神秘化、離奇化。賽珍珠在該殖民語境下,在《大地》中從兩方面解構(gòu)了東方主義：1)賽珍珠通過對中國農(nóng)民形象進行“人性化”的塑造,以及對中國女性形象阿蘭和梨花的“正�；睌⑹�,解構(gòu)了西方歷史中作為扭曲的“他者”中國形象；2)賽珍珠塑造了中國農(nóng)民眼中可憐的美國人和奇怪的美國傳教士形象,解構(gòu)了美國形象的優(yōu)越性和東方主義。進而賽珍珠在《大地》中從兩方面建構(gòu)了鄉(xiāng)土中國形象：1)賽珍珠構(gòu)建了中國農(nóng)民深沉的土地?zé)崆橐约巴觚埡桶⑻m等積極的農(nóng)民形象；2)通過對《大地》中的中國傳統(tǒng)文化,包括中國家庭宗族制、儒家思想、及社會和宗教習(xí)俗的描述,構(gòu)建了中國獨立于西方知識系統(tǒng)的文化形象。通過《大地》東方主義的跨文化分析,論文指出,賽珍珠在小說中真實地刻畫了中國農(nóng)民生活,一定程度上為西方展現(xiàn)了中國的傳統(tǒng)文化,顛覆了西方文學(xué)中對中國的刻板印象,解構(gòu)了西方的東方主義文學(xué)傳統(tǒng),構(gòu)建了一個獨立于西方知識系統(tǒng)的真實鄉(xiāng)土中國形象。
[Abstract]:Taking said's Orientalism as the theoretical framework, this paper analyzes how Pearl Buck deconstructs the oriental literary tradition and constructs the image of native China in the Land. Saeed holds that Orientalism is a form of western discourse about the East, which is essentially a way for the powerful West to dominate, reconstruct and oppress the East in a weak position for a long time. On the basis of the dualistic opposition between the East and the West, the West regards the East as the "other" and pushes it to its own opposites, distorts and derogates the image of the "other" in the East, thus highlighting the superiority of the ego. This system of understanding is closely related to Western colonialism and imperialism. In the end, Orientalism is a cultural refraction of colonialism and hegemonism. Based on orientalism and the historical and cultural context of Pearl Buck's works, this paper makes a cross-cultural analysis of Pearl Buck's works, the Earth is a text completed in the colonial context of Chinese and Western societies, so it has a colonial background. China in semi-colonial and semi-feudal society and the political culture of feudal subject with Confucianism as the core provided social root and national psychological reason for Peasant Life described by Pearl Buck in the Earth. Since the Opium War, Western imperialist countries have been trying to colonize China and control its culture. Western missionary activities are one of the most important forms of Chinese cultural invasion. Until the 1930s, the West was biased against China. In the eyes of Westerners, China is primitive, backward, barbaric, weak image, Chinese culture is mysterious, bizarre. In this colonial context, Pearl Buck deconstructs Orientalism: 1 from two aspects in the "Earth") Pearl Buck portrays the image of Chinese peasants by "humanizing" and "normalizing" the images of Alain and pear flower in China. It deconstructs the distorted "other" Chinese image in western history) Pearl Buck shapes the poor American and strange American missionary image in the eyes of Chinese peasants, and deconstructs the superiority and Orientalism of the American image. Then Pearl Buck constructs the native Chinese image of China from two aspects: 1) Pearl Buck constructs the deep land enthusiasm of Chinese farmers and the active image of farmers such as Wang long and Alan. Including the description of Chinese family clan, Confucianism, and social and religious customs, it constructs a cultural image of China independent of the western knowledge system. Based on the cross-cultural analysis of Orientalism, the paper points out that Pearl S. Buck truly portrays the life of Chinese peasants in her novels, and to some extent shows the traditional Chinese culture for the West. It subverts the stereotype of China in western literature, deconstructs the oriental literary tradition of the West, and constructs a real image of native China independent of the western knowledge system.
