【摘要】：本文主要對漢英“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語:“也許”,“或許”,“興許”,“可能”和“大概”;probably,perhaps,possibly,likely和maybe進行對比研究。由于這一類副詞廣泛運用在表達不確定性或疑惑的口語及書面語篇中,所以,本文試圖對該類副詞的句法、語義、語用及篇章功能的共性、差異、以及規(guī)則進行一一探究。再者,基于美國當(dāng)代英語語料庫和北京大學(xué)中國語言學(xué)研究中心語料庫收集的真實語料,本文對漢英“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語進行了定量考察及定性分析。本文旨在探究漢英“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語在其句法、語義、篇章以及語用特征的共性與差異,通過分析研究,本文主要發(fā)現(xiàn)并解釋了以下幾點:1.在句法方面:盡管漢英“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語均優(yōu)先置于句首和句中,但是,英語“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語具有更加復(fù)雜和多樣化的句法位置,其優(yōu)選順序為:“probablypossiblylikelyperhapsmaybe”(“”表示“先于”),相較于前者,漢語“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語在句法位置復(fù)雜性和表達豐富性方面也略有遜色,其出現(xiàn)頻率的優(yōu)選順序則是:“也許”“大概”/“或許”“可能”“興許”;2.在語義方面,以這一類副詞具有極其相似的語義為前提,漢語“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語較之英語對等詞,更具動態(tài)性、更依賴于情景語境,據(jù)其語義結(jié)構(gòu)的多樣性,可以得出該優(yōu)選序列:“也許”“可能”“大概”/“或許”“興許”。而英語對應(yīng)詞序列則為:probably/perhapslikelypossibly/maybe。此外,這類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語還可連接具有轉(zhuǎn)折、條件、因果類語義關(guān)系的前后小句;3.在語用方面,漢英“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語主要有四種語用功能,即:信息標(biāo)記功能,話語標(biāo)記功能,強調(diào)和主觀化功能。4.在篇章銜接功能方面,“或然”類副詞性關(guān)聯(lián)詞語的銜接功能主要體現(xiàn)在指稱、省略、替代、連接和詞匯銜接上,這些功能在我們所分析意義完整連貫的語篇中所起的作用非常明顯。
