科普英語是用通俗、生動、易懂的語言向大眾宣傳和普及科學技術(shù)知識,是文學和科學相結(jié)合的寫作體裁�？破辗g應(yīng)該把科技翻譯和文學翻譯的方法結(jié)合起來,既要體現(xiàn)出科學知識的準確性和嚴密性,又要體現(xiàn)出通俗性和趣味性,使讀者喜聞樂見�？赡壳翱破沼⒄Z的翻譯品質(zhì)不齊,誤譯問題比較嚴重。過去幾年里,國內(nèi)外學者開始對科普英語翻譯進行研究,然而這些研究大多偏重于譯文的準確性、翻譯標準和方法,缺少較為系統(tǒng)的理論作為支撐,顯得不盡人意。鑒于此,本文從社會符號學翻譯法的角度來研究科普翻譯,以期對完善科普翻譯的理論和實踐起一定的推動作用。作者主要討論社會符號學翻譯法在科普翻譯過程中尋求功能對等的實際應(yīng)用價值,認為科普翻譯應(yīng)當是語言間一種由微觀結(jié)構(gòu)到宏觀結(jié)構(gòu),由靜態(tài)到動態(tài)的漸進過程。研究內(nèi)容包括：第一,社會符號學翻譯法是否具有研究科普翻譯的可行性,其具體表現(xiàn)如何。第二,從社會符號學翻譯法視角看,科普翻譯中功能對等是如何實現(xiàn)的。第三,有什么翻譯原則和翻譯方法能被用來提高譯文的正確性和可讀性。本研究選取了國內(nèi)外知名科普書和期刊作為討論范例,運用社會符號學的翻譯標準“意義相符,功能相似”來對這些例子進行對比分析,分別從指稱意...
