　　舍伍德?安德森在文學(xué)歷史上一直是個頗具爭議的作家,而且自從他的第一部小說Windy Mcpherson’s Son出版后,對他及其作品的評論就沒一直沒停止過。而一直以來,對他的評論無外乎以下幾個方面:安德森在美國文學(xué)上的地位和影響,他所處的文學(xué)流派,他作品的主題和他所運用的創(chuàng)作技巧等等。但自從二十世紀六十年代以來,文學(xué)評論界開始對舍伍德?安德森及其作品重新審視,以期對他的作品,他與其時代的關(guān)系以及他在美國二十世紀文學(xué)發(fā)展中所起的作用獲得更加全面的了解�，F(xiàn)在評論家們基本認定他是美國過渡時期非常重要的作家,認為他是現(xiàn)代主義的先驅(qū)。特別是在短篇小說形式、主題、風(fēng)格和人物創(chuàng)造上,安德森都是一個開創(chuàng)者,有自己獨特之處。但是舍伍德?安德森人物創(chuàng)造還沒有引起足夠的關(guān)注。他的人物創(chuàng)作技巧、小說人物的特性及其作品中人物所處的文化背景是本篇論文的主要內(nèi)容。由于安德森通常被認為是一個短篇小說家,而且他的短篇小說人物創(chuàng)造又極具特色,所以本篇論文主要圍繞其四部短篇小說集來進行討論,也就是Winesburg, Ohio （1919）, The Triumph of the Egg （1921）, Horses a...
