小說(shuō)《他們的眼睛望著上帝》可以從兩個(gè)層面來(lái)解讀——女性自我實(shí)現(xiàn)的征程和一種文化自我肯定的征程。小說(shuō)通過(guò)女主人公珍妮把這兩個(gè)層面結(jié)合在了一起。珍妮在自己的文化中找到了自我實(shí)現(xiàn)的力量源泉,從而也證明了這種文化的力量與魅力所在。雖然小說(shuō)對(duì)女性和文化的關(guān)注使作者赫斯頓受到了其同時(shí)代作家的排斥,在她逝世的二十四年后,艾麗斯·沃克的女性主義定義給了她一個(gè)強(qiáng)有力的回應(yīng)。女性主義者對(duì)自我的肯定與熱愛(ài),對(duì)全人類(lèi)的人文關(guān)懷在小說(shuō)中得到了很好的體現(xiàn)。 本文對(duì)《他們的眼睛望著上帝》的解讀主要是從女性主義的這兩個(gè)特點(diǎn)入手,分三個(gè)方面來(lái)闡述。論文的第一部分著重分析作者在文中所表現(xiàn)的對(duì)待性別和種族的態(tài)度,第二、第三部分分別通過(guò)作者對(duì)非洲文化中話語(yǔ)力量和布魯斯元素的應(yīng)用,來(lái)闡述作者對(duì)黑人及美國(guó)黑人文化的肯定。 赫斯頓在《他們的眼睛望著上帝》所表現(xiàn)出的對(duì)自我的肯定,對(duì)他人的包容為沃克的女性主義定義提供了一個(gè)很好的注解,同時(shí)也為讀者提供了一個(gè)看待世界的新視角。
