英文小說(shuō)“The State”(“境界”)和“Seeing Ershadi”(“看見(jiàn)埃沙迪”)漢譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告

本翻譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告以彼得·紐馬克(Peter Newmark)的語(yǔ)義翻譯與交際翻譯為理論指導(dǎo),翻譯了兩篇短篇小說(shuō)“The State(《境界》)”和“Seeing Ershadi(《看見(jiàn)埃沙迪》)”,分別為湯米·奧蘭奇(Tommy Orange)和妮可·克勞斯(Nicole Krauss)所作。兩篇小說(shuō)均選自《紐約客》,該雜志經(jīng)導(dǎo)師推薦,譯者自主選擇其中兩篇小說(shuō)并完成翻譯實(shí)踐。翻譯實(shí)踐文本為小說(shuō)體裁,奧蘭奇的作品熱情奔放,結(jié)構(gòu)大膽新穎,情節(jié)跳躍;克勞斯善于大量的心理活動(dòng)描寫(xiě),翻譯時(shí)若不多次閱讀揣摩,便很難把握主人公的情緒脈絡(luò)。這都增加了翻譯的復(fù)雜性。在翻譯過(guò)程中譯者不僅要最大化還原原文內(nèi)容、保留語(yǔ)言結(jié)構(gòu),還需要考慮目的語(yǔ)讀者的思維方式和閱讀習(xí)慣,進(jìn)行邏輯方面的調(diào)整。因此譯者選擇彼得·紐馬克的語(yǔ)義翻譯與交際翻譯為理論指導(dǎo),在翻譯過(guò)程采用了詞性轉(zhuǎn)換、句式重組、銜接和連貫等方法。通過(guò)此次翻譯實(shí)踐,本人認(rèn)識(shí)到了理論與實(shí)踐的結(jié)合在翻譯中的重要性。在理論的指導(dǎo)下,進(jìn)行實(shí)踐工作時(shí)才有方向性;在實(shí)踐中,理論才能得到進(jìn)一步運(yùn)用與完善。
