艾麗斯·沃克是杰出的美國女作家,普利策獎得主。《梅麗迪安》是艾麗斯·沃克的一部經(jīng)典小說,自發(fā)表以來就受到廣泛的關注。本文是基于小說《梅麗迪安》第四章至十二章翻譯的翻譯報告。本篇翻譯報告以紐馬克交際翻譯理論為指導,通過分析翻譯過程中遇到的難點,采取的措施,探討交際翻譯理論在小說翻譯中的應用。本篇翻譯報告分析了筆者在原文小說英漢翻譯過程中遇到的三大困難:如何理解原文中重要的詞匯并在翻譯時選擇合適的表達,如何處理小說中的長難句以及小說中的對話。結合紐馬克的交際翻譯理論,從詞匯、句子和對話三方面進行案例分析,探討在翻譯過程中如何運用恰當?shù)姆g方法和策略從而達到交際的效果�？偨Y得出:在詞匯層面,在忠實于原文的基礎上譯文要符合譯入語的表達方式,使目標語讀者更好地理解原文。在處理長難句時,不拘泥于原文的形式,運用切分法、換序法使譯文流暢,清晰。原文中有大量的對話,譯文需正確傳遞說話人的深層含義和說話時的語氣,從而提高目標語讀者的閱讀體驗。總之,在交際翻譯理論指導之下,譯者對原文有了更加深刻的理解,掌握了文學翻譯的主要技巧并將其靈活地運用到《梅麗迪安》的翻譯中,使譯文更好地為讀者接受。
