從譯者主體性角度分析李清照詞的英譯

【摘要】: 宋詞在中國古典文學史上有著極為重要的文學價值和歷史地位,千百年來,宋詞以其獨特的文學藝術(shù)魅力吸引著國內(nèi)外廣大文學愛好者。而宋代詞史上最偉大的女詞人李清照,在整個中國文學發(fā)展史上的文學地位和研究價值是不言而喻的。 雖然詩詞難譯,仍有許多中西方學者致力于李清照詞在英語文化中的傳播,大大促進了西方社會對中國古典文學的了解。幾十年來,60首李清照詞,已出現(xiàn)了400多種英文譯本。這為多譯本對比提供了絕佳的素材。如今的多譯本對比許多都局限于字詞層面上的分析,旨在找到一種“權(quán)威”譯本,實現(xiàn)“忠實”和“對等”。 譯者主體性的提出,為多譯本研究打開了一扇窗。 20世紀60年代,翻譯研究出現(xiàn)了文化轉(zhuǎn)向,人們開始對“源文本中心論”提出質(zhì)疑,開始更多地關(guān)注譯者以及譯者在翻譯中所扮演的角色。譯者主體性的概念應(yīng)勢而生,逐步受到國內(nèi)外學者的關(guān)注而成為翻譯界熱烈討論的話題之一。關(guān)于譯者主體性的問題,如“誰是翻譯中的主體”,“譯者主體性的概念如何界定”等,眾說紛紜,莫衷一是,迄今沒有定論。對這些問題進行一番回顧和討論,有助于理解譯者主體性如何在翻譯過程中發(fā)揮作用。 伽達默爾的哲學闡釋學,被視為譯者主體性的理論基礎(chǔ)。本文擬從哲學闡釋學的視角,重新審視譯者主體性概念,通過闡述“理解的歷史性”,“成見”,“視域融合”三個核心概念,強調(diào)不同的譯者,因其所處社會文化背景、個人知識結(jié)構(gòu)、興趣、審美情趣等方面的差異,對同一文本有不同的解讀,并會按照自己的解讀來再現(xiàn)原作的信息,因而產(chǎn)生面貌各異的多種譯本。 在個案分析中,本文選取了大量李清照詞英譯的譯例,嘗試探究在李清照詞英譯的各個階段,譯者的主體性是如何得以發(fā)揮的。通過分析,本文的論點得到證明:譯者主體性的發(fā)揮,是李清照詞多譯本合理存在的重要因素;在進行多譯本對比時,應(yīng)充分考慮翻譯中最活躍的因素——譯者,進一步分析差異產(chǎn)生的深層次原因,以期更好地促進詩詞翻譯實踐。
[Abstract]:Song ci has an extremely important literary value and historical position in the history of Chinese classical literature. For thousands of years, Song ci has attracted many literature lovers at home and abroad with its unique literary and artistic charm. Li Qingzhao, the greatest female poet in the history of ci in Song Dynasty, is self-evident in the literary status and research value of the whole history of Chinese literature. Although poetry is difficult to translate, many Chinese and western scholars have devoted themselves to the spread of Li Qingzhao in English culture, which has greatly promoted the understanding of Chinese classical literature in western society. In the past decades, there have been more than 400 English translations of 60 Li Qingzhao words. This provides excellent material for comparison of multiple translations. Many of today's multi-translations are confined to word-level analysis in order to find a "authoritative" translation to achieve "faithfulness" and "equivalence". The subjectivity of the translator has opened a window for the study of multiple versions. In the 1960s, the cultural turn of translation studies began to question the "source-text-centered theory". More attention has been paid to the translator and his role in translation. The concept of translator's subjectivity has gradually become one of the hot topics in the translation field because it has attracted the attention of scholars at home and abroad. There are different opinions on the translator's subjectivity, such as "who is the subject in translation" and "how to define the translator's subjectivity". A review and discussion of these problems will help to understand how the translator's subjectivity plays a role in the translation process. Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics is regarded as the theoretical basis of translator's subjectivity. From the perspective of philosophical hermeneutics, this paper attempts to re-examine the translator's concept of subjectivity. By expounding the three core concepts of "historical understanding", "prejudice" and "horizon fusion", this paper emphasizes the different translators because of their social and cultural background. The differences in individual knowledge structure, interest, aesthetic taste and so on, have different interpretations of the same text, and will reproduce the original information according to their own interpretation, thus producing various versions with different features. In the case study, this paper selects a large number of examples of English translation of Li Qingzhao words, and tries to explore how the translator's subjectivity can be brought into full play in all stages of the translation of Li Qingzhao words into English. Through the analysis, it is proved that the translator's subjectivity is an important factor in the reasonable existence of multi-translation of Li Qingzhao words, and that the translator, the most active factor in translation, should be taken into account in the comparison of multiple versions. Further analysis of the causes of the differences, in order to better promote the practice of poetry translation.
