【摘要】:翻譯是一種跨文化的交際活動(dòng),其具有的社會(huì)屬性不容忽視。20世紀(jì)90年代末,西方翻譯學(xué)術(shù)界開始紛紛借鑒社會(huì)學(xué)的理論,把翻譯看作一種社會(huì)實(shí)踐,考察翻譯在社會(huì)系統(tǒng)中的運(yùn)作和角色。其中,法國(guó)社會(huì)學(xué)家皮埃爾·布迪厄(Pierre Bourdieu)的社會(huì)學(xué)理論被學(xué)界引用地最為廣泛,它打破了客觀主義和主觀主義的對(duì)立,為置于社會(huì)語(yǔ)境下的翻譯研究提供了有力的理論框架。長(zhǎng)篇小說(shuō)《呼蘭河傳》是民國(guó)時(shí)期才女作家蕭紅的代表作,該書曾被茅盾譽(yù)為“一篇敘事詩(shī),一幅多彩的風(fēng)土畫,一串凄婉的歌謠”。其英譯本Tales of Hulan River由著名翻譯家葛浩文(Howard Goldblatt)首譯完成。如今葛浩文更以其翻譯莫言等中國(guó)現(xiàn)當(dāng)代作家作品而聞名,然而對(duì)于他早期質(zhì)量上乘的《呼蘭河傳》譯本的研究卻備受忽視。本文以布迪厄社會(huì)學(xué)視角下的“場(chǎng)域”和“慣習(xí)”概念為基礎(chǔ),研究了影響葛浩文早期選擇翻譯《呼蘭河傳》的外在場(chǎng)域因素,即20世紀(jì)70年代前后的文學(xué)場(chǎng)域和學(xué)術(shù)界場(chǎng)域;其次,論文探討了影響其翻譯選擇的自身慣習(xí),即譯者個(gè)人對(duì)蕭紅作品獨(dú)具一別的欣賞和熱愛。事實(shí)上,葛浩文對(duì)蕭紅的大量學(xué)術(shù)研究奠定了其翻譯《呼蘭河傳》的基礎(chǔ),因而在翻譯選材上更加注重原作的文學(xué)價(jià)值,在翻譯方法上則以直譯和意譯相結(jié)合,忠實(shí)傳遞原作的文學(xué)性特征。另外,本文分析了場(chǎng)域下的慣習(xí)潛意識(shí)地影響著譯者翻譯過(guò)程中的具體翻譯方法選擇,而譯者的個(gè)人經(jīng)歷和偏好、文學(xué)鑒賞和理解以及翻譯觀等影響下形成的特殊慣習(xí),對(duì)其處理原文的文化負(fù)載詞、篇章結(jié)構(gòu)、文學(xué)風(fēng)格和中國(guó)古典詩(shī)歌等方面產(chǎn)生了重要影響。
[Abstract]:Translation is a kind of cross-cultural communicative activity. Its social attribute can not be ignored. At the end of 1990s, the western translation academic circles began to learn from the theory of sociology and regard translation as a kind of social practice. This paper examines the function and role of translation in the social system. Among them, the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu's sociological theory is widely cited in the academic world. It breaks the antagonism between objectivism and subjectivism and provides a powerful theoretical framework for translation studies in the social context. The novel "biography of Hulan River" is the masterpiece of the talented female writer Xiao Hong in the Republic of China. The book was once praised by Mao Dun as "a narrative poem, a colorful landscape painting and a string of sad ballads". The English translation of Tales of Hulan River was first translated by famous translator Howard Goldblatt. Nowadays, GE Haowen is famous for his translation of Mo Yan and other modern and contemporary Chinese writers, but the study of his early high quality translation of Hulan River has been neglected. Based on the concepts of "field" and "habit" from the perspective of Bourdieu's sociology, this paper studies the external field factors that influence the early choice of translation of Hulan River, namely the field of literature and the field of academia around the 1970s. Secondly, the thesis explores the idiosyncrasies that influence his translation choices, that is, the translator has a unique appreciation and love for Xiao Hong works. In fact, a large number of academic studies on Xiao Hong have laid the foundation for his translation of Hulan River, so he pays more attention to the literary value of the original work in the selection of translation materials, and combines literal translation and free translation in translation methods. Faithfully convey the literary characteristics of the original work. In addition, this paper analyzes the subconscious influence of inertia in the field on the choice of specific translation methods in the process of translation, and the special habits formed by the translator's personal experiences and preferences, literary appreciation and understanding, and translation views. It exerts an important influence on its handling of culture-loaded words, textual structure, literary style and Chinese classical poetry.
