【摘要】：自傳小說《女奴生平》(Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl)是非裔美國婦女文學(xué)的一部重要作品。故事發(fā)生在美國蓄奴時期,記錄了女主人公哈麗雅特·雅各布斯(Harriet Jacobs)為擺脫世代奴役的命運(yùn),在親人和朋友的幫助下,與男主人弗林特醫(yī)生斗智斗勇,自囚在外祖母家陰暗狹促的閣樓中長達(dá)七年,最終一家人獲得自由的故事。文中涉及的特定歷史背景、時代特征、人物特點(diǎn)和跨文化交際因素,對譯者完成全書的翻譯提出了挑戰(zhàn)。 關(guān)聯(lián)翻譯理論將翻譯看作對源語進(jìn)行闡釋的交際過程。譯者需要在翻譯之前充分利用認(rèn)知語境中的各種信息,仔細(xì)品味原文,推導(dǎo)出原文信息暗含的交際意圖,抽取最佳關(guān)聯(lián)以達(dá)到最佳的語境翻譯效果。同時,譯者需要以譯文讀者的認(rèn)知能力和閱讀目的為準(zhǔn)則,把原文作者的信息意圖和交際意圖最大化地傳遞給譯文讀者。最佳關(guān)聯(lián)即譯文讀者花費(fèi)最小的努力便能獲得最佳的語境效果。因此,我們應(yīng)通過上下文語境,準(zhǔn)確理解原文,充分考慮譯文讀者的認(rèn)知能力以及對譯文的預(yù)期,尋找相關(guān)事物的最佳關(guān)聯(lián)來處理翻譯中難題。 本文通過分析《女奴生平》漢譯過程中出現(xiàn)的實(shí)例,探討在關(guān)聯(lián)翻譯理論的指導(dǎo)下,最適合此書漢譯的翻譯策略。筆者歸納出以下三種翻譯策略：一、準(zhǔn)確選詞,重現(xiàn)原文意境；二、合理“歸化”,適當(dāng)調(diào)整句式；三、保留修辭,引起讀者共鳴。在翻譯實(shí)踐中,應(yīng)采取各種措施實(shí)現(xiàn)最佳關(guān)聯(lián),將源語中的認(rèn)知環(huán)境盡量完整地在譯文中還原出來,展現(xiàn)原文作者的交際目的,讓譯文讀者獲取最大的語境效果。筆者希望本文提出的三種翻譯策略對類似的文本翻譯具有一定的參考價值。
[Abstract]:Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl is an important work in African-American women's literature. The story takes place in the age of slavery in the United States, documenting the heroine Harriet Jacobs Harriet Jacobs.To escape the fate of generations of slavery, the heroine, with the help of relatives and friends, fights with his master, Dr. Flint. After seven years in the dark and narrow attic of her grandmother's house, the family was finally free. The specific historical background, the characteristics of the times, the characters and the cross-cultural communicative factors involved in the paper challenge the translator to complete the translation of the book. Relevance translation theory regards translation as the communicative process of interpreting the source language. Before translating, the translator should make full use of all kinds of information in cognitive context, savor the original text carefully, deduce the communicative intention implied by the original information, and extract the best relevance to achieve the best effect of contextual translation. At the same time, the translator needs to maximize the author's information intention and communicative intention to the target readers according to the readers' cognitive ability and reading purpose. The best relevance, that is, the best contextual effect can be achieved with minimal effort by the target readers. Therefore, we should consider the cognitive ability of the target readers and the expectations of the target text in order to find the best relevance to deal with the translation problems through contextual context, an accurate understanding of the source text. Based on the analysis of some examples in the process of translation of female Slave, this paper discusses the most suitable translation strategies under the guidance of relevance translation theory. The author concludes the following three translation strategies: first, accurate choice of words to reproduce the original artistic conception; second, reasonable "domestication", appropriate adjustment of sentence structure; third, retention of rhetoric, which resonates with readers. In translation practice, various measures should be taken to achieve the best relevance, to restore the cognitive environment in the source language to the target text as completely as possible, to show the communicative purpose of the original author, and to enable the target readers to obtain the maximum contextual effect. The author hopes that the three translation strategies proposed in this paper have some reference value for the translation of similar texts.
