【摘要】： 作家參與高校文學教育是中國現(xiàn)代史上一個非常重要的文學和教育學現(xiàn)象。本文在系統(tǒng)梳理這一歷史現(xiàn)象的基礎上，探尋形成這一現(xiàn)象的內(nèi)外原因，總結現(xiàn)代作家參與文學教育的特點，并分析其當時在文學和教育學上的意義及對當代的啟示。 首先本文澄清了幾個概念：一是文學，本文采用羅根澤先生折中義上的“文學”觀，即：包括詩、小說、戲劇、及傳記、書札、游記、史論等散文。二是文學教育，指作為現(xiàn)代大學里一門新型學科的“文學”的教育與教學情況；三是作家，“作家”并不是一個自生的概念。在中國現(xiàn)代史上，職業(yè)作家的出現(xiàn)和作家身份意義的獲得，是特定歷史語境的產(chǎn)物。課題中的“現(xiàn)代作家”是指創(chuàng)作活動主要是在“五四”運動到解放前這一歷史時期內(nèi)的作家群體。四是教授，指現(xiàn)代大學中最高一級教師的職務。在中國現(xiàn)代教育史上，其社會身份的獲得與現(xiàn)代大學的成立有著密切的關系。課題中強調的是其“大學教師”的身份，而非其“教授”的職稱。在理清這些已有概念的基礎上，作者提出兩個新的概念：一是“作家型教授”，指長時間在高校任職并在學術研究方面有突出成就，世人公認的社會身份是高級的大學教師；但他們在文學史上也有卓越的貢獻、有優(yōu)秀的文學作品留世。二是“教授型作家”，指其文學創(chuàng)作成就為世人認可，并在在文學史上有顯著的位置，在后人的研究中第一社會身份是作家；并在某個學術領域也有突出成就的人。 其次，本文從現(xiàn)代作家的任課任職、撰寫教材與成就專著三方面回顧了其參與文學教育的歷史概況。第一，縱觀整個現(xiàn)代文學史，作家參與大學文學教育的比例之高出人意料。他們以各種姿態(tài)出現(xiàn)在各類大學中，在文學教育第一線做著切實的工作。第二，現(xiàn)代作家在參與教學的同時不斷地在自己的學科領域探索，他們與教學課程相關著作的出版情況可以從另一個側面說明現(xiàn)代作家與高校文學教育之間的密切關系。參與大學文學理論教學的現(xiàn)代作家，對新的文學理論體系的建構發(fā)揮了積極的作用。第三，在中國現(xiàn)代文學史上眾多的流派中，幾個重要流派的作家與當時的大學文學教育都有密切的關系。30年代“京派”作家群體本是北平高校的教授群體，與當時著名大學文學教育的關系密切�！昂Ｅ伞弊骷乙灿泻艽蟊壤呱细咝Ｎ膶W教育的講臺，他們?yōu)橥ㄋ孜膶W走上大學講臺打下了最初的基礎。 再次，現(xiàn)代作家參與高校文學教育有主觀客觀兩方面的原因：客觀原因主要有兩個方面：一是生存的壓力，迫使大批現(xiàn)代作家走上文學教育講臺最為直觀的原因是當時中國經(jīng)濟落后的社會現(xiàn)實；二是管理機制的靈活，在中國現(xiàn)代大學起步階段，管理機制的靈活給一些沒有學位的現(xiàn)代作家走上大學文學教育講臺的機會。主觀原因主要也有兩個方面：一是現(xiàn)代作家“文人自貴”和“亂世退隱”的傳統(tǒng)文化心理，這決定了現(xiàn)代作家們在“亂世”中尋求生存之道時，首要選擇必然是大學的“象牙之塔”；二是他們對話語權力的內(nèi)在需求：發(fā)揮自己作為獨立知識分子的話語權力、以盡匹夫之責的內(nèi)在心理需求是推動現(xiàn)代作家們走上大學文學教育講臺的內(nèi)在動力。 最后，本文總結了現(xiàn)代作家從事高校文學教育的價值：第一，這一現(xiàn)象催生了新文學運動，表現(xiàn)在文學理念的傳播和文學群體的培養(yǎng)兩方面。第二，建立了文學學科新體系，，表現(xiàn)為奠基了中國現(xiàn)代文學學科并為新課程體系的建立打下基礎，使現(xiàn)代文學和文學理論逐漸發(fā)展為高校中文系的必修基礎課。第三，形成了文學教育實踐性和個性化的新特點。其實踐性特點具體表現(xiàn)為他們以自己編輯和寫作的經(jīng)驗進行示范性寫作和鼓勵學生自己創(chuàng)作。其個性化特點具體表現(xiàn)為人格魅力的感染和平等觀念的體現(xiàn)。
