“翻譯” (本文指文學翻譯 )的定義在翻譯這門學科里是個看似最簡單的問題 ,然而因其在國內(nèi)和國外林林總總、各具特色 ,顯露出復(fù)雜、深刻而又色彩斑斕的一面 ,折射出當前該學科領(lǐng)域熱門話題———翻譯理論的種種縮寫。當翻譯活動經(jīng)歷了幾千年悠久的歷史后 ,卻仍無一條翻譯定義為世人公認 ,而當今世界形形色色的翻譯定義又俯拾即是 ,“這是一個頗耐玩味的事實”。在此 ,文章對這一獨特的現(xiàn)象作了分析

This paper made an analysis of a random collection of miscomprehensions from translation literature, showing that in the course of interlingual translating, comprehension is of paramount importance and very hard. Based on the analysis, some implications have been drawn for translators, translation theorists and teachers. It has also raised some questions concerning the relationship between translation theory and practice in the hope that due attention should be paid to it.

本文分析了部分翻譯著述中的理解錯位實例 ,說明了翻譯過程中理解的重要和艱難 ,并根據(jù)對這些實例的分析得出幾點對于翻譯工作者、翻譯理論以及外語教學工作的啟示 ,同時也提出了幾個有關(guān)翻譯理論與實踐方面的問題 ,望能引起有關(guān)人員的重視。
