【摘要】：本研究主要探討了空間維度形容詞及其名詞所構(gòu)成的類鏈接的語義趨向和語義韻。在此之前,關(guān)于空間維度形容詞的研究集中從兒童習(xí)得機(jī)制、概念隱喻、視角理論等進(jìn)行句法、語義分析。此外,學(xué)者們從跨語言的角度進(jìn)行對(duì)比分析試圖尋找語言共性和差異。本研究通過對(duì)六組英語空間維度形容詞與其名詞搭配的共現(xiàn)詞頻和語境進(jìn)行語義分析,并對(duì)呈現(xiàn)的語義趨向性和語義韻進(jìn)行闡釋。本文是定量與定性相結(jié)合的研究,從工作語料庫——美國(guó)當(dāng)代英語語料庫中提取數(shù)據(jù)樣本,對(duì)每個(gè)搭配的類聯(lián)接選取基于互信息值和共現(xiàn)頻次較高的前30個(gè)樣本,總結(jié)常見的語義趨向,同時(shí)將它們的具體共現(xiàn)語境例句進(jìn)行等距抽樣,再對(duì)得到的例句進(jìn)行進(jìn)一步定性分析,甄別其中的語義韻特點(diǎn)。從本體論來說,與空間維度形容詞搭配的名詞大部分都是有限、具體的內(nèi)容實(shí)體,這和空間維度形容詞作為人類描述外部世界的基本詞匯以及人類可及的世界物體的屬性有關(guān)。而描述相對(duì)抽象的物體時(shí),空間維度形容詞傾向于描述基于形容詞本義相關(guān)的抽象實(shí)體,如時(shí)間類、度量類、知識(shí)類等。根植于這種語義趨向,相應(yīng)的語義韻也具有描述客觀意義。從語料庫提取語篇片段,分析得到的空間維度類聯(lián)接總體而言具有中性客觀的語義韻特點(diǎn)。無論是從單個(gè)的搭配詞匯還是搭配詞匯所在的語篇片段來看,空間維度形容詞及其名詞搭配形成的類鏈接具有明顯的中性客觀語義韻。這對(duì)二語學(xué)習(xí)者以及翻譯者具有借鑒意義。
