文本類型理論指導下的《地質(zhì)探索》英漢翻譯實踐報告

  近年來,為了滿足人民群眾學習科學技術的需求,我國譯介出版了許多國外優(yōu)秀科普書籍。相應地,科普翻譯繁榮發(fā)展。如何使科普譯本易于讀者理解、符合讀者閱讀口味,是十分重要的研究課題。本實踐報告總結了筆者參與翻譯《地質(zhì)探索——地球的動感與活力》(Geologica—EARTH’S DYNAMIC FORCES)一書的情況。筆者在翻譯過程中,主要有以下難點:1)詞匯層面:量詞、地名文化負載詞、形容詞的翻譯;2)句法層面:長句和復合句以及諺語文化內(nèi)涵的翻譯;3)語篇層面:段落中邏輯關系和句子語序的處理。英國翻譯理論家彼得·紐馬克提出了文本類型理論,將文本類型劃分為三類,即表達型文本、信息型文本、呼喚型文本!兜刭|(zhì)探索——地球的動感與活力》旨在向群眾普及科學知識、提升科學素養(yǎng)。結合文本類型理論,筆者認為是該文本是信息型文本和呼喚型文本。因此,筆者認為,在翻譯該文本時,應該以讀者為中心,盡力準確地轉(zhuǎn)換原文信息,貼切地轉(zhuǎn)換原文風格。筆者在紐馬克文本類型理論的指導下,針對上述翻譯難點,采用相應策略:1)詞匯層面:采用直譯法、加注法解決量詞和地名文化負載詞的翻譯難點,采用轉(zhuǎn)換法、引申法解決形容詞的翻譯難點;2...
