晚清中國(guó)譯學(xué)先驅(qū)者的文化認(rèn)同困境——以墨海書(shū)館秉筆華士代表人物為例

【摘要】:西方列強(qiáng)的堅(jiān)船利炮打開(kāi)了晚清中國(guó)的大門以后,西方文化與科技隨之強(qiáng)勢(shì)傳入,一批近代早期知識(shí)分子在歷史機(jī)緣和個(gè)人遭遇的雙重推動(dòng)下,成為了中國(guó)最早受雇于西方書(shū)館翻譯西學(xué)著作的譯者——秉筆華士。但他們始終受到"夷夏之辨"等傳統(tǒng)思維方式的深刻影響,在固守儒家思想與認(rèn)同西方文化的困境中進(jìn)退失據(jù),無(wú)法確定自己的位置。本文擬從王韜、管嗣復(fù)和蔣敦復(fù)等三位秉筆華士代表人物的個(gè)案分析入手,揭示這批晚清中國(guó)譯學(xué)先驅(qū)者由傳統(tǒng)讀書(shū)人向近代知識(shí)分子轉(zhuǎn)型過(guò)程中的艱難抉擇。
[Abstract]:After the strong boat of the Western powers opened the door of China in the late Qing Dynasty, Western culture and science and technology came into being, and a group of intellectuals in the early modern times were pushed forward by both historical opportunities and personal encounters. He became the first Chinese translator to be employed by the western library to translate his western works. However, they were always deeply influenced by the traditional ways of thinking, such as "the debate of the Yi Xia". It is impossible to determine one's position in the dilemma of sticking to Confucianism and identifying with western culture. This paper begins with the case analysis of Wang Tao, Guan Sifu and Jiang Dunfu, three representative figures of Hua Shi, namely, Wang Tao, Guan Sifu and Jiang Dunfu. This paper reveals the difficult choice of the Chinese translation pioneers in the late Qing Dynasty during the transition from the traditional scholars to the modern intellectuals.
