本報(bào)告的原文本為英國(guó)海外政策文件數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)(Documents on British Policy Overseas(DBPO))中的英國(guó)外交部檔案,名為《中國(guó)在西沙群島的主權(quán)》(Sovereignty of China over Paracel Islands,編號(hào)1931-F0-676-85),由若干份1931-1933年英國(guó)外交部官員間有關(guān)南海島嶼紛爭(zhēng)的辦公快信組成。作者負(fù)責(zé)該原文本的翻譯,并據(jù)此撰寫(xiě)本翻譯報(bào)告。辦公快信的重要功能是進(jìn)行高效的信息傳遞,所以辦公快信的翻譯要忠實(shí)原文,準(zhǔn)確翻譯原文本的信息。而且,譯文應(yīng)具有可讀性,能呈現(xiàn)出與原文相同的文本效果。本文將以此為出發(fā)點(diǎn)來(lái)分析翻譯中遇到的問(wèn)題。第一,文中多專(zhuān)有名詞,翻譯時(shí)應(yīng)盡量使用已有的規(guī)范化譯文,以提升譯文的準(zhǔn)確性和可讀性。第二,文中多復(fù)雜長(zhǎng)句。翻譯句子時(shí),作者在確保信息得到準(zhǔn)確翻譯的前提下,使用了順序、逆序、斷句重構(gòu)、轉(zhuǎn)句解釋、語(yǔ)態(tài)轉(zhuǎn)換、綜合法等方法增加譯文的可讀性。
