【摘要】：《檀香刑》是諾貝爾文學(xué)獎(jiǎng)獲得者莫言的一部作品,曾在文學(xué)界引起熱議。同時(shí),葛浩文先生所譯的《檀香刑》也引起了相關(guān)學(xué)者和專家的深入研究。這些研究主要從翻譯補(bǔ)償理論、動(dòng)態(tài)對(duì)等理論、移植改寫、文化翻譯理論等方面對(duì)英譯本進(jìn)行探索。雖然上述研究有其自身優(yōu)勢(shì),但大都只借助理論的一個(gè)微觀層面對(duì)文本進(jìn)行闡述和解讀,極少關(guān)注譯者本身的角色或從宏觀層面全面解讀《檀香刑》英譯本。胡庚申提出的翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論為宏觀層面研究翻譯過(guò)程提供了方向,該理論認(rèn)為翻譯的實(shí)質(zhì)就是“譯者適應(yīng)翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境的選擇活動(dòng)”。本文主要借助翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論研究《檀香刑》英譯本,以期豐富該英譯本的研究。論文采用定性分析的研究方法,研究翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論視角下的《檀香刑》英譯本。論文首先進(jìn)行了文獻(xiàn)綜述,然后介紹了本文的理論框架:胡庚申的翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論。同時(shí)重點(diǎn)介紹了譯者的適應(yīng):對(duì)需要、能力、翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境的適應(yīng),也就是翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境對(duì)譯者的選擇,正如自然界中的“適者生存、優(yōu)勝劣汰”,并探討了作為翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境典型要件的譯者在語(yǔ)言維、文化維、交際維三個(gè)維度上的選擇轉(zhuǎn)換。研究發(fā)現(xiàn),譯者翻譯《檀香刑》是基于內(nèi)部需要和外部需要以及自身能力及翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境的適應(yīng),滿足了西方讀者了解中國(guó)文化的愿望并實(shí)現(xiàn)了譯者本身的價(jià)值;同時(shí)憑借精湛的雙語(yǔ)轉(zhuǎn)換能力和長(zhǎng)期的翻譯實(shí)踐在英漢兩種語(yǔ)言中進(jìn)行了多維度地選擇。語(yǔ)言維上,譯者實(shí)現(xiàn)了原文風(fēng)格的再現(xiàn),如口語(yǔ)化語(yǔ)言、修辭及小說(shuō)特有的貓腔語(yǔ)言;文化維上,譯者通過(guò)運(yùn)用歸化、異化相結(jié)合及多種翻譯技巧譯者完成了生態(tài)、物質(zhì)、社會(huì)和宗教文化方面的轉(zhuǎn)換;交際維上,譯者主要通過(guò)增減詞項(xiàng)、標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號(hào),運(yùn)用大寫、斜體來(lái)實(shí)現(xiàn)交際意圖。通過(guò)分析可知,譯者完成了包括原文、譯語(yǔ)、原語(yǔ)、讀者在內(nèi)的整個(gè)翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境的適應(yīng),同時(shí)實(shí)現(xiàn)了三維轉(zhuǎn)換選擇。本文通過(guò)對(duì)《檀香刑》英譯本中適應(yīng)選擇的研究,加深了對(duì)翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論內(nèi)涵的理解,驗(yàn)證了翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論的適用性;該研究也對(duì)《檀香刑》深層內(nèi)涵的理解具有借鑒意義,為該英譯本的研究提供了一個(gè)新的視角。
[Abstract]:Sandalwood punishment is a work of Mo Yan, the Nobel Prize winner in literature, which has aroused heated discussion in literary circles. At the same time, the translation of Sandalwood punishment by Mr. Gehhot has also aroused the in-depth study of relevant scholars and experts. These studies mainly explore English translation from the aspects of translation compensation theory, dynamic equivalence theory, transplantation and rewriting, cultural translation theory and so on. Although the above studies have their own advantages, most of them only use a microscopic level of theory to explain and interpret the text, and pay little attention to the role of the translator himself or to the comprehensive interpretation of the English version of Honolulu punishment from the macro level. Hu Gengshen's theory of choice of translation adaptation provides a direction for the study of translation process at the macro level, which holds that the essence of translation is "the translator's choice of adaptation to the ecological environment of translation". This paper mainly studies the English version of Sandalwood punishment with the help of the theory of adaptation to translation, in order to enrich the study of the English version. Based on qualitative analysis, this paper studies the English translation of Sandalwood penalty from the perspective of adaptation choice theory. The thesis firstly reviews the literature and then introduces the theoretical framework of this paper: Hu Gengshen's theory of adaptation to translation. At the same time, it focuses on the translator's adaptation: adaptation to needs, ability and translation ecological environment, that is, the choice of translation ecological environment to the translator, just as the survival of the fittest, survival of the fittest and survival of the fittest in nature. This paper also discusses the translator's choice and transformation in three dimensions: language dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension, which are typical elements of translation ecological environment. It is found that the translation of sandalwood punishment is based on the internal and external needs, as well as the adaptation of its own ability and the translation ecological environment, which satisfies the Western readers' desire to understand Chinese culture and realizes the translator's own value. At the same time, it makes a multi-dimensional choice between English and Chinese by virtue of its excellent bilingual conversion ability and long-term translation practice. In the linguistic dimension, the translator realizes the reproduction of the original style, such as colloquial language, rhetoric and the cat language unique to the novel, while in the cultural dimension, the translator completes the ecological and material aspects through the application of domestication, foreignization and various translation techniques. Social and religious cultural transformation; communicative dimension, the translator mainly through the addition and subtraction of words, punctuation, capital, italics to achieve communicative intention. Through the analysis, the translator has completed the adaptation of the whole translation environment, including the original, the target language, the original language and the reader, and has realized the choice of three-dimensional transformation. Through the study of adaptation choice in the English version of Sandalwood punishment, this paper deepens the understanding of the connotation of the adaptation selection theory and verifies the applicability of the adaptation choice theory. The study also provides a new perspective for the study of Sandalwood punishment.
