《與西藏有緣》英譯實(shí)踐報告

【摘要】:隨著中外文化交流的日益頻繁,西藏文化作為中國文化的獨(dú)特組成部分受到越來越多的關(guān)注。相應(yīng)地,在向世界傳播西藏文化的過程中,漢英翻譯正在發(fā)揮著日益重要的作用。鑒于以上原因,本譯者選擇和完成了林聰?shù)摹杜c西藏有緣》一書節(jié)選的英譯任務(wù)。該書以通俗的語言介紹了西藏的風(fēng)土人情,作者對于藏族同胞和西藏風(fēng)俗的認(rèn)識來源于他在西藏許多年的親身經(jīng)歷,讀者可以從中接觸到真實(shí)的西藏文化。該書尚未有英譯本問世,因此其英譯具有必要性和原創(chuàng)性。盡管本翻譯任務(wù)具有相當(dāng)?shù)碾y度,但本譯者通過系統(tǒng)式翻譯程序和方法完成了它,其中首先采用了由若干階段和步驟構(gòu)成的系統(tǒng)式翻譯程序,其次又系統(tǒng)式地運(yùn)用了各種翻譯方法來處理文化負(fù)載詞、復(fù)雜句子和語篇結(jié)構(gòu)方面的翻譯問題。就其翻譯過程或程序而言,本譯者采用了分為譯前準(zhǔn)備、原文分析、譯文生成和譯后工作四個階段的系統(tǒng)式翻譯程序。在譯前準(zhǔn)備階段,本譯者選取了本次漢英翻譯的原文《與西藏有緣》的第二部分“風(fēng)土”(本部分介紹了西藏文化中的酥油花藝術(shù)、哈達(dá)、酥油茶、糌粑、佛塔、經(jīng)輪、經(jīng)幡、辯經(jīng)訓(xùn)練和重要的藏傳佛教節(jié)日)并通過收集背景信息和建立詞匯表術(shù)語庫為翻譯任務(wù)做好了準(zhǔn)備。在原文分析和譯文生成階段,本譯者通過總體把握、語境分析、本體分析和總體理解四個步驟系統(tǒng)化地分析了譯文,并通過總體把握、語境設(shè)計、本體設(shè)計和總體生成四個步驟系統(tǒng)化地生成了譯文。在譯后工作階段,本譯者又全面修改和校對了譯文,保證其能夠?qū)崿F(xiàn)應(yīng)有的文化傳播功能,并由此完成了翻譯任務(wù)。就其翻譯方法或技巧而言,本譯者在尊重原文意思的基礎(chǔ)上,根據(jù)特定的上下文和翻譯目的系統(tǒng)式地運(yùn)用了各種翻譯方法或技巧。對于文化負(fù)載詞的翻譯,本譯者互補(bǔ)性地采用了直譯、意譯、音譯等翻譯方法或技巧。同時,對于已有翻譯的文化負(fù)載詞,本譯者進(jìn)行多方考證,在符合翻譯目的的基礎(chǔ)上選擇適當(dāng)?shù)姆g。大多數(shù)情況下,本譯者會選擇基于梵文而不是基于藏文的英語翻譯,因?yàn)榛阼笪牡姆g更容易也更廣泛地為譯文讀者所接受。對于復(fù)雜句子的翻譯,本譯者采用了句法轉(zhuǎn)換的方法,包括拆句、添加連接詞和添加主語。對于復(fù)雜語篇結(jié)構(gòu)的翻譯,譯者采用了運(yùn)用詞匯、語法和邏輯銜接手段的方法來確保語篇的鏈接和連貫。本次翻譯任務(wù)可望具有一定的實(shí)踐意義。就其文化功能而言,本次翻譯任務(wù)可望有助于將西藏文化傳播到英語世界去。就其翻譯實(shí)踐意義而言,本次翻譯任務(wù)對于系統(tǒng)式翻譯程序和方法的試用可望有益于以后的文化文本翻譯實(shí)踐。
[Abstract]:With the increasingly frequent cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, Tibetan culture, as a unique part of Chinese culture, has attracted more and more attention. Accordingly, in the process of spreading Tibetan culture to the world, C-E translation is playing an increasingly important role. For the above reasons, the translator has chosen and completed the translation of Lin Cong's excerpts from Lin Cong's book "predestined for Tibet". The book introduces Tibetan customs and customs in popular language. The author's understanding of Tibetan compatriots and Tibetan customs comes from his personal experience in Tibet for many years, and readers can get into contact with the real Tibetan culture. The book has not yet been translated into English, so its translation into English is necessary and original. Although this translation task is quite difficult, the translator completes it through systematic translation procedures and methods, in which a systematic translation procedure consisting of several stages and steps is first used. Secondly, various translation methods are systematically used to deal with the translation problems of culture-loaded words, complex sentences and discourse structures. As far as the translation process or procedure is concerned, the translator adopts a systematic translation procedure, which is divided into four stages: pre-translation preparation, original analysis, translation generation and post-translation work. In the pre-translation preparation stage, the translator selects the second part of the Chinese-English translation of "fate with Tibet" (this part introduces the art of crispy oil in Tibetan culture, Hada, buttered tea, Zanba, pagoda, chakra, scripture, pennant, etc. Debate training and important Tibetan Buddhist festivals) and preparation for translation tasks by collecting background information and creating a glossary of terminology. In the stage of source analysis and translation generation, the translator systematically analyzes the target text through four steps: general grasp, context analysis, ontology analysis and overall understanding. The four steps of ontology design and total generation systematically generate the translation. In the post-translation stage, the translator modifies and proofreads the translation in an all-round way to ensure that it can achieve its proper function of cultural communication, and thus completes the translation task. On the basis of respecting the meaning of the original text, the translator systematically applies various translation methods or techniques according to the specific context and the purpose of translation. For the translation of culture-loaded words, the translator adopts translation methods or techniques such as literal translation, free translation, transliteration and so on. At the same time, the translator makes many textual research on the culture-loaded words which have been translated, and chooses the appropriate translation on the basis of the purpose of translation. In most cases, the translator chooses English translation based on Sanskrit rather than Tibetan, because Sanskrit based translation is easier and more widely accepted by the target readers. For the translation of complex sentences, the translator adopts syntactic transformation methods, including sentence splitting, adding connectives and adding subjects. For the translation of complex discourse structure, the translator adopts lexical, grammatical and logical cohesive devices to ensure the linking and coherence of the text. This translation task is expected to have some practical significance. In terms of its cultural function, this translation mission is expected to help spread Tibetan culture to the English-speaking world. As far as its translation practice is concerned, it is expected that the trial of this translation task for the systematic translation procedures and methods will benefit the cultural text translation practice in the future.
