【摘要】：在當代中國和平崛起的大背景下,作為中國的綜合實力的重要標志,中國的國家形象已經(jīng)成為學(xué)術(shù)界的熱門話題。國家形象反映出國家本身以及國際社會對其的總體評價,而這種評價很大程度上依賴于大眾傳媒對其的刻畫。作為中美主流媒體的代表,《中國日報》和《紐約時報》在中國形象的構(gòu)建過程中扮演著極其重要的角色。本文旨在回答以下三個研究問題:(1)《中國日報》上的中國形象是什么?它們是如何被構(gòu)建的?(2)《紐約時報》上的中國形象是什么?它們是如何被構(gòu)建的?(3)哪些因素影響了《中國日報》和《紐約時報》上中國形象的語言構(gòu)建?從批評性語篇分析的視角出發(fā),本文運用了Fairclough的三維分析模式對語料進行批評性對比分析。Fairclough將語言看成一種社會實踐,因此著重分析語篇、交際以及社會環(huán)境三者之間的關(guān)系,即對文本的語言特征進行描述,解釋文本與交際之間的關(guān)系,闡釋交際與社會情景的關(guān)系。本文選取了《中國日報》和《紐約時報》上的6篇新聞報道作為語料,分析這兩份報紙對中國形象的語言構(gòu)建,以揭示新聞報道中語言、權(quán)力和意識形態(tài)之間的關(guān)系。研究發(fā)現(xiàn),《中國日報》上的新聞報道構(gòu)建的中國形象主要是“友好”、“互利”和“促進男女平等”,而《紐約時報》構(gòu)建的中國形象主要是“侵犯”、“掠奪”和“男女不平等”。前者傾向于構(gòu)建正面的中國形象,而后者傾向于構(gòu)建負面的中國形象。同時,本文也探討了政治、經(jīng)濟、文化、社會因素對中國形象構(gòu)建的影響。本研究具有一定的實用價值。首先,本研究對英語閱讀教學(xué)有一定的啟示,能夠幫助學(xué)生們運用描寫、解釋和闡釋更好地理解閱讀材料。其次,本研究有助于提高人們的批評意識,幫助人們更好地理解新聞報道者的真實意圖。最后,本研究可以幫助人們提高跨文化交際能力。
[Abstract]:Against the background of the peaceful rise of contemporary China, as an important symbol of China's comprehensive strength, China's national image has become a hot topic in academic circles. The national image reflects the overall evaluation of the country itself and the international community. As the representative of the mainstream media, the China Daily and the New York Times play an extremely important role in the process of constructing the image of China. The purpose of the article is to answer the following three research questions: 1) what is the image of China in China Daily? How are they built? What is the image of China in the New York Times? How are they built? What factors affect the language construction of the Chinese image in the China Daily and the New York Times? From the perspective of critical discourse analysis, this paper uses Fairclough's three-dimensional model to make critical comparative analysis of the corpus. Fairclough regards language as a kind of social practice, so it focuses on the analysis of the relationship among discourse, communication and social environment. That is, to describe the linguistic features of the text, to explain the relationship between the text and communication, and to explain the relationship between communication and social situation. This paper selects six news reports in China Daily and the New York Times as corpus. Analyzing the language construction of the two newspapers' image of China, in order to reveal the language in news reports, The relationship between power and ideology. The study found that the news reports in the China Daily mainly build Chinese images as "friendly", "mutually beneficial" and "promote equality between men and women", while the New York Times constructs the main image of China. If "aggression", "plunder" and "gender inequality". The former tend to build a positive image of China, The latter tends to construct a negative image of China. At the same time, this paper also discusses the influence of political, economic, cultural and social factors on the construction of Chinese image. This study has some implications for the teaching of English reading, and can help students to use description, interpretation and interpretation to better understand the reading materials. Secondly, this study can help to raise people's awareness of criticism. Finally, this study can help people to improve their intercultural communicative competence.
