唐代舉子寺讀之風和科考的關系探析

【摘要】:隋唐是我國科舉制度確立的時期,也是佛教興盛的時代。舉子習業(yè)寺院之風是隨著科舉制度的確立及發(fā)展而出現(xiàn)的,是佛教中國化和世俗化的產(chǎn)物。在唐代中后期官學呈現(xiàn)衰微趨勢之后,寺院讀書之風蓬勃發(fā)展起來。許多佛寺以優(yōu)越的學習環(huán)境、豐富的藏書、博學的僧人,吸引了眾多舉子前來寺院讀書備考,已然形成一種社會風氣。在這種風氣下,寺院教育和科舉考試,寺院僧人和科考舉子,寺院文化和科考文化,他們之間相互影響,相互滲透,形成了一種良性的互動。寺院作為一個能夠充分展現(xiàn)唐代燦爛文化的窗口,不僅在文學藝術各方面都給予了寺院學習舉子以豐富的精神滋養(yǎng),也為他們提供了科舉失意后尋求慰藉的避風港,而反過來,舉子這一繼承了中國傳統(tǒng)文化的群體,以及在他們社交范圍內(nèi)的大量的士子文人,則成為了佛教的外圍信仰者,他們的社會影響力強大,憑借自身的文化素養(yǎng)和社會地位來直接或是間接的促進了佛教的傳播,為佛教的發(fā)展,特別是對其中國化和世俗化的進程起到了一定的推動作用。本文試圖以唐代舉子在寺院讀書以備科考這一社會現(xiàn)象為突破點,來反映這一時期佛教和儒家思想的互相影響和融合。
[Abstract]:The Sui and Tang dynasties were the period of the establishment of the imperial examination system and the prosperity of Buddhism. It is the product of Buddhist Sinicization and secularization. After the declining trend of official studies in the middle and late Tang Dynasty, the style of studying in monasteries flourished. Many Buddhist monasteries had a good learning environment, a rich collection of books, and learned monks. It has attracted a large number of people to study in monasteries, and it has become a social atmosphere. Under this atmosphere, monastery education and imperial examinations, monasteries and monks, monasteries and scientific examinations, temple culture and scientific research culture have influenced each other. As a window to fully display the splendid culture of the Tang Dynasty, monasteries not only gave the monastery a rich spiritual nourishment in all aspects of literature and art, It also provided them with a haven to seek solace after the imperial examinations failed, and in turn, the group that inherited the traditional Chinese culture, as well as a large number of literati in their social sphere, became outside believers in Buddhism. Their social influence is strong, relying on their own cultural literacy and social status to directly or indirectly promote the spread of Buddhism, for the development of Buddhism, In particular, it has played a certain role in promoting the process of Sinicization and secularization. To reflect the influence and integration of Buddhism and Confucianism in this period.
