【摘要】：羅伯特·R·利文斯頓在路易斯安娜購(gòu)買談判期間擔(dān)任美國(guó)駐法公使,為購(gòu)買條約的簽訂發(fā)揮了重要作用,同時(shí)其獨(dú)特的古典共和思想在推動(dòng)談判進(jìn)程上尤為令人深思。通過(guò)研究該事件既能夠厘清古典共和主義與利文斯頓外交思想和策略間的聯(lián)系,也能反映出建國(guó)之父?jìng)冊(cè)谕饨活I(lǐng)域的思想意識(shí)淵源,尤其拓展了以伯納德·貝林和戈登·伍德等“共和派”學(xué)者所提出的古典共和主義傳統(tǒng)的影響范圍。本文將試著以利文斯頓為視角研究路易斯安娜購(gòu)買,采用國(guó)際史的寫作體例,以古典共和主義在17-18世紀(jì)西方世界引發(fā)的自由主義改革的歷史背景,作為進(jìn)行歷史語(yǔ)境構(gòu)建的基礎(chǔ)。此外筆者還將借助盡可能多的原始資料,圍繞路易斯安娜購(gòu)買進(jìn)行較為深入的研究,重新肯定利文斯頓的歷史作用。路易斯安娜購(gòu)買后,利文斯頓在購(gòu)買談判里卓有成效的外交實(shí)踐間接地影響到了杰斐遜,促使杰斐遜摒棄了其古典共和主義思想里“反現(xiàn)代性”的成分,進(jìn)而最終促成了美國(guó)大踏步邁向現(xiàn)代化之路。
[Abstract]:Robert R. Livingston played an important role in the signing of the treaty during the purchase negotiations of Louis An Na. At the same time, his unique classical Republican thought is particularly thought-provoking in promoting the negotiation process. Through the study of this event, it can not only clarify the connection between classical republicanism and Livingston's diplomatic thought and strategy. It also reflects the ideological origin of the founding fathers in the diplomatic field. In particular, it expands the scope of influence of the classical Republican tradition proposed by Bernd Belin and Gordon Wood. This paper will try to study the purchase of Louis An Na from the perspective of Livingston. It adopts the writing style of international history and takes the historical background of liberalism reform initiated by classical republicanism in the western world in the 17th and 18th centuries. As the foundation of constructing historical context, the author will study the purchase of Louis An Na with the help of as many original materials as possible. After Louis An Na's purchase, Livingston's fruitful diplomatic practice indirectly affected Jefferson. Jefferson abandoned the "anti-modernity" element of his classical Republican thought, and finally made the United States stride toward modernization.
