【摘要】：正19世紀(jì)所有的偉大河流中,探險家們最渴望去探索的并不是尼日爾河或剛果河,而是尼羅河,它被視為最大的戰(zhàn)利品。尼羅河孕育了古老的埃及文明——不僅僅是孕育,更維持了它的發(fā)展。然而數(shù)千年來,卻沒有人知道尼羅河的源頭究竟在何處。正如一位歷史學(xué)家所說,19世紀(jì)中期,尼羅河的源頭"成為繼發(fā)現(xiàn)美洲后最大的地質(zhì)奇跡"。
[Abstract]:In 19th century, of all the great rivers, explorers were most eager to explore not the Niger or Congo, but the Nile, which was regarded as the greatest prize of war. The Nile gave birth to ancient Egyptian civilisations-not just gestation. But for thousands of years, no one knew exactly where the Nile originated. As one historian put it, the source of the Nile "became the greatest geological miracle since the discovery of America" in the mid-19th century.
