[Abstract]:Bai Fulan, a professor of social anthropology in Britain. "Technology, gender, History: reexamining the Great Transformation of Imperial China." (Jiangsu people's Publishing House, 2017), from the perspective of technical history, combining gender, history, etc. This paper reexamines the grand theme of the great transformation of imperial China, both in terms of subject matter and historical method, which is of great academic value. The author believes that the history of Chinese technology, like its profound cultural connotations, has shocked the people of the East and the West. From farming, textile to drawing, architecture, medicine, even pen making, printing and so on, China in the late monarchical period had already possessed superb skills.
