本文運(yùn)用2000年至2011年中國(guó)寬帶滲透省際面板數(shù)據(jù)，研究了寬帶與中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)之間的關(guān)系，發(fā)現(xiàn)寬帶引入和滲透對(duì)中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)起到了顯著推動(dòng)作用，2000年到2011年的數(shù)據(jù)表明，寬帶滲透率每增長(zhǎng)10% 能帶動(dòng)人均GDP年增長(zhǎng)率增加約0.19%。分析表明寬帶滲透對(duì)經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)的貢獻(xiàn)存在一定的網(wǎng)絡(luò)效應(yīng)，當(dāng)寬帶滲透率達(dá)到約10%后，寬帶滲透對(duì)人均GDP增長(zhǎng)率的貢獻(xiàn)彈性增加。此外，寬帶對(duì)中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)的影響具有區(qū)域差異性，寬帶對(duì)于東部、中部經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的推動(dòng)作用顯著，而對(duì)西部還不明顯，可能的原因是西部信息化應(yīng)用水平與東、中部地區(qū)還有較大差距。截止2012年，中國(guó)寬帶滲透水平以及寬帶傳輸速率與發(fā)達(dá)國(guó)家還有明顯差距，并有進(jìn)一步加大的趨勢(shì)，，實(shí)施寬帶中國(guó)戰(zhàn)略具有現(xiàn)實(shí)緊迫性。

In this paper we investigate how broadband affects economic growth in China. We use panel data from a sample of 31 Chinese provinces (including municipalities) throughout the 2000 to 2011 period to examine the impacts that broadband developments may have had. We find that 10% increase in broadband penetration raised annual per capita growth rate by ~0.19%, and the evidence of a positive causal link became more significant when broadband penetration rate reached above ~10%. We also find that the broadband’s contributions to economic growth in China's east and mid regions are more evident than in the west region.
