美國斯沃斯莫爾學院轉(zhuǎn)型發(fā)展研究——以艾德洛特榮譽教育試驗為考察中心

【摘要】:面對20世紀20年代美國高校希臘生活與校際體育盛行嚴重影響學術生活質(zhì)量、學生個體差異擴大亟需新的教育制度培育學優(yōu)生的社會現(xiàn)實,艾德洛特依據(jù)自身對優(yōu)質(zhì)本科教育的認識,結(jié)合斯沃斯莫爾學院規(guī)模小而精、注重心智訓練等傳統(tǒng)及前50年的發(fā)展基礎,選擇榮譽教育作為轉(zhuǎn)型路徑,推動學院在培養(yǎng)目標、課程組織、教學方式、入學標準、學業(yè)評價等十個方面發(fā)生轉(zhuǎn)變,增強了師生學術自覺性,帶動了普通課程教學的綜合改革,觸發(fā)了一場旨在滿足學優(yōu)生發(fā)展的全美課程改革運動,開啟了美國本科教育的新時代;厮葸@一轉(zhuǎn)型歷程或?qū)槲覈咝^D(zhuǎn)型帶來結(jié)合自身傳統(tǒng)和社會需求自主選擇轉(zhuǎn)型路徑、培育有利于促進轉(zhuǎn)型發(fā)展的合作文化、建立有效評價轉(zhuǎn)型效果的自我評估機制等啟示。
[Abstract]:In the 1920s, the prevalence of Greek life and intercollegiate sports in American colleges and universities seriously affected the quality of academic life, and the expansion of students' individual differences urgently required a new educational system to foster the social reality of excellent students. According to his own understanding of high-quality undergraduate education, combined with the small scale of Swarthmore College, focusing on mental training and other traditions and the development basis of the first 50 years, Eddard Lott chose honor education as the transition path to promote the college's training objectives. Changes have taken place in ten areas, such as curriculum organization, teaching methods, admission standards, academic evaluation, etc., which have strengthened the academic consciousness of teachers and students and promoted the comprehensive reform of general curriculum teaching. It triggered a new era of undergraduate education in the United States by triggering a nationwide curriculum reform campaign aimed at satisfying the development of gifted students. Looking back on this process of transformation may bring us some enlightenment, such as combining our own tradition and social needs, choosing the transition path independently, cultivating a cooperative culture conducive to promoting the development of transformation, and establishing an effective self-evaluation mechanism for evaluating the effect of transformation.
